Basic facts An Interreg IVC miniprogramme shaped as a partnership of seven rural or sparsely populated European regions. The program started in January 2010 and it will go on until December 2013. Total budget of 4 926 000, out of which 3 010 000 allocated for sub-projects. Häme budget 722 000, out of which 430 000 for subprojects

Objective Exploring challenges resulting from ageing regional societies and addressing opportunities emerging from needs of ageing population 1. Adaptation and further diversification of the regional level care/well being sector key words: public-private, system-oriented, human resources Two sub-objectives 2. Supporting innovative/technologyintensive SMEs developing specific products/services key words: innovation, new products and services, economical and technological resources

Activities - 7 sub-projects: BIOLIFE, EFFECT, ENSURE, GENERATIONS, RECO, SILHOUETTE, SILVER ECONOMY - 7 workshops: 5 of them together with all sub-project participants - 1 Partner search event in Metz - Steering Committee and Working Group meetings - Regional events: Workshops, Communication events - Study visits, Expert study - Newsletters - Final Conference in Miskolc in November 2013

Results - Good practices collected by sub-projects and regional partners - Changes identified in regional policies - Political manifesto & Technical Sourcebook/guide - Recommendations and guidelines for future regional policies taking into account the needs of ageing population

Alustavat ohjelmasisällöt kaudelle 2014-2020: Neljä temaattista tavoitetta: 1. Tutkimuksen, teknologian kehittämisen ja innovoinnin vahvistaminen 3. PK-yritysten kilpailukyvyn parantaminen 4. Vähähiiliseen talouteen siirtymisen tukeminen 6. Ympäristön suojeleminen ja luonnonvarojen käytön tehokkuuden parantaminen

Ohjelmarakenteeseen muutoksiaviimeisin sihteeristön esitys: Kahden tyyppiset toimet: ns. kehitysalustat (policy learning platforms) ja ns. valtavirtaistamisprojektit (mainstreaming projects) Kehitysalustat: neuvonta ja tiedonvaihtomahdollisuudet alueille, jotka eivät varsinaisesti ole mukana hankkeissa, neuvova rooli Projektit: tiedon ja osaamisen vaihto, hyvien käytäntöjen siirto, vahva tulospainotteisuus -> rakenteesta ei ole vielä mitään päätöksiä

Valmistelun eteneminen: Ohjelman ensimmäisen tekstiversion yhteydessä keskustelu, kuinka paljon temaattisten tavoitteiden sisältöjä ryhdytään kohdentamaan - > mahdollisesti 1-2 investointiprioriteettiä/temaattinen tavoite Ohjelma-asiakirjasta järjestetään julkinen kuuleminen loppusyksystä Tavoite: lopullinen ohjelma-asiakirja komissioon marraskuussa 2013
