2017 Efficacy evaluation of fungicides against rusts and other leaf diseases in spring wheat - Advisory fungicide trial SUMMARY The trial was located in Jokioinen. Spring wheat cultivar in the trial was Wanamo. Previous crop was barley. The trial was drilled on 22 nd of May. The crop stand was good and even in the trial. Weather during the season differed from the long term average summer. May was dry until the end of the month when there were the first rainy days. May was also quite cold even at the sowing time there was a warm period. In June it rained 101 mm which is almost 40 mm over the 1981 2010 long term average. The mean temperature was 12.8 C which is also lower to the 14 C average. In July it rained 44.7 mm which is 30 mm below the average, but the mean temperature was 14.9 C which is 1.8 C below the average. It meant that the soil and also crop stayed wet for long periods. August was again a bit rainier and colder than the long term average. September was then quite normal and it rained a bit less. The effective temperature sum stayed whole summer 70 150 C below the long term average. At the end of September the temperature sum was 1136 while the average is 1269. The trial treatments were done on 18 th of July at growth stage BBCH 49 51. At application tan spot (Pyrenophora tritici-repentis) severity was 2.6 % evenly on whole trial area. Sixteen days after application at BBCH 65 the two upper leaves were still healthy. On the lower leaves tan spot severity was 7 % in the untreated control and around 2 3 % with all the treatments. There was no phytotoxicity with any of the treatments. Final disease assessment was made one month after the treatment at milk ripening stage BBCH 75. At that time tan spot severity was already 72.5 % in the untreated control. The efficacy of all products was good, 76 92 %. The highest efficacy (91 92 %) was with Elatus Era and Comet Pro+Prosaro treatments, in which tan spot severity was 5 6 %. There was no clear difference between other treatments. The number of green leaves was 0.5 in the control, but it was still 2 3 with all treatments. The trial was harvested on 23 rd of October. Spring wheat ripened at the beginning of the month, but harvesting was really late because it rained on almost every day. The trial was almost totally lodged at harvesting. The yield level was low and the yield of untreated control was 4100 kg/ha. All treatments had slightly higher yield, 4350 4500 kg/ha (5 9 %). The highest yield, 4650 kg/ha (13 %) in this trial was with Elatus Era treatment. Because of the late harvesting also quality was poor. Hectoliter weight was 67.9 kg in the untreated control and it was 1 3 % higher (68.8 70 kg) with all treatments. With Amistar+Zenit, Elatus Era, Elatus Plus+Amistar Xtra and Ascra Xpro the increase was significant. Thousand grain weight was 32 g in the untreated control. All treatments had significant increase in TGW in this trial. With Comet Pro+Juventus and Amistar+Zenit the increase was 7 10 %, but with all other treatments 12 14 % (36 36.6 g). There were no clearly best treatments in yield and quality, but all treatments had good performance in spring wheat.

2017 Efficacy evaluation of fungicides against rusts and other leaf diseases in spring wheat - Advisory fungicide trial TIIVISTELMÄ Markkinoilla olevia viljojen sienitautien torjunta-aineita testattiin kevätvehnällä kenttäkokeessa Jokioisissa. Testatut valmisteet olivat Amistar + Zenit 575 EC 0.4+0.4 l/ha, Comet Pro + Juventus 0.4+0.4 l/ha, Orius + Mirador 0.8+0.4 l/ha, Elatus Era 1.0 l/ha, ElatusPlus + Amustar Xtra 0.5+0.5 l/ha, Comet Pro + Prosaro 0.4+0.4 l/ha ja Ascra Xpro 1.0 l/ha. Kokeeseen sisältyi myös käsittelemätön koejäsen. Koe suunniteltiin yhteistyössä kasvinsuojeluaineyritysten kanssa ja toteutettiin GEP-laatujärjestelmän mukaisesti. Kasvukauden sää oli tavanomaisesta vähän poikkeava. Toukokuussa oli kuivaa ja vasta kuun lopussa tuli enemmän sateita, mutta sademäärä oli vain 13 mm ja alle pitkän ajan 1981 2010 keskiarvon joka on 41mm. Toukokuu oli viileä lukuun ottamatta yhtä lämmintä jaksoa. Keskilämpötila oli silti asteen normaalia 9.8 C alhaisempi. Kesäkuussa vettä satoi 101 mm ja se on 40 mm yli pitkäaikaisen keskiarvon. Keskilämpötila oli 12.8 C, kun se normaalisti on 14 C. Heinäkuussa satoi 45 mm eli 30 mm tavallista vähemmän. Myös keskilämpötila oli 14.9 C ollen 1.8 C alle tavanomaisen. Ilmankosteus oli korkea koko kuukauden ja maa ja kasvusto eivät päässeet kuivumaan. Elokuu oli pitkän ajan keskiarvoa vähän viileämpi ja kosteampi. Kesä-, heinä ja elokuussa päivän maksimilämpötilat olivat harvemmin yli 20 C ja hellepäiviä ei ollut. Syyskuussa oli poutaisempaa ja vähän lämpöisempää, joten viljat pääsivät tuleentumaan. Kevätvehnäkoe sijaitsi Jokioisissa. Koe kylvettiin toukokuun 22. päivä ja lajike oli Wanamo. Esikasvina oli ohra. Kasvusto oli tasainen ja melko rehevä. Fungisidikäsittely tehtiin 18. heinäkuuta, kun vehnä oli tähkälle tulon alussa. Käsittelyhetkellä vehnässä oli alalehdillä pistelaikkua noin 2.5 % tasaisesti koko kokeen alalla. Ensimmäinen havainto tehtiin kaksi viikkoa käsittelyn jälkeen vehnän kukkiessa. Kaksi ylintä lehteä olivat vielä terveitä. Käsittelemättömissä ruuduissa oli 7 % pistelaikkua alimmilla lehdillä. Käsittelyillä pistelaikun määrä oli 2 3 % ja käsittelyjen välillä ei ollut selviä eroja. Tautiaineilla ei ollut kevätvehnällä mitään vioituksia. Lopullinen tautihavainto tehtiin kuukausi ruiskutuksen jälkeen maitotuleentumisvaiheessa BBCH 75. Pistelaikun määrä oli lisääntynyt paljon ja oli käsittelemättömässä 72.5 %. Kaikkien käsittelyjen teho oli hyvä, 76 92 %. Yli 90 % teho oli Elatus Eralla ja Comet Pro+Prosaro seoksella ja niillä pistelaikun määrä oli vain noin 5 %. Muiden käsittelyjen välillä selvää tehoeroa ei ollut. Vihreä lehtiala maitotuleentumisvaiheessa oli käsittelyillä selvästi suurempi. Ilman tautitorjuntaa vain puolet ylälehdestä oli vihreä, mutta käsittelyillä kaksi tai kolme ylintä lehteä olivat vielä hyvin vihreitä. Koe päästiin sateisen lokakuun takia puimaan vasta 23.10. Koeala oli jo lähes täysin laossa ja se vaikutti osin satoon ja laatuun. Käsittelemätön sato oli 4100 kg/ha. Kaikki käsittelyt lisäsivät satoa ja suurin sato oli Elatus Eralla, 4650 kg/ha (+13 %). Muilla sadonlisäys oli 5 9 % eli 250 400 kg. Käsittelyillä oli jonkun verran vaikutusta hehtolitrapainoon. Se oli 67.9 kg käsittelemättömänä ja 68.8 70 kg (1 3 %) eri käsittelyillä. Tuhannen jyvän paino ilman käsittelyä oli 32 g, mutta kaikki käsittelyt nostivat sitä merkitsevästi 34.4 36.6 g (7 14 %). Parhaiten sadon määrään ja laatuun vaikuttivat Elatus Era, Elatus Plus+Amistar Xtra ja Ascra Xpro, mutta ero muihin käsittelyihin ei ollut suuri.
