Joint and Combined Operations in and from Confined and Shallow Waters (JCOpCSW) "Yhteisoperaation tukeminen rannikolla" MCDC Koordinointikokous 1/2015 29.5.2015 Komentaja Jan Engström, Merivoimien Esikunta, Komentaja Janne Muurinen 29.5.2015 1
MCDC2013-14 MACOA USA:n johtama MCDC:n osakehitysprojekti, jossa tarkoituksena tarkentaa, syventää ja operationalisoida MNE7:ssä tuotettua konseptia ja käsikirjaa. Toiminta-alue: avomereltä saaristoon ja rannikolle. Viitekehys: monikansallinen kriisinhallinta.
JCOpCSW Quad Chart Capability COA Relevance Relevance to Joint Force Required Capabilities: Confined and Shallow Waters (CSW) provide good opportunities to project capable forces into an area of interest or risk. In order to compose such a force able to deliver effects required and asset types need to be listed. Interoperability procedures/standards within national and multinational Joint /maritime assets is required as well as the integration of modern technologies. Procedures, by which such multinational forces combine, train and operate, need to be agreed. Desired Capability / - End State DESIRED CAPABILITY A multinational joint and combined force able to combine, train and operate in CSW Modern technologies Integration / Burden Sharing / Procedures / Standards for interoperable systems collected and further development initiated Lead: Supporters: Contributors: Observers: Lead & Participation (TBC) Transition/Shaping Forces - Potential How can results change Joint/Coalition Forces? Forces, not necessarily only as part of a standing alliance, can be combined to react to challenges within an area of interest and thus provide mutual support as part of a reaction to a specific threat while making use of modern technologies. 4 DELIVERABLE & END STATE Conceptual Framework for use in preparation and execution of joint combined operations in CSW is provided. What plans for transitioning to End Users? Based on the resulting conceptual framework, follow on actions (possible Exercise in 2017 / 2018 and further research, i.e. as Smart Defence Initiative) may be agreed upon and initiated. UNCLASSIFIED

Desired Endstate JCOpCW Desired Endstate Conceptual Framework, utilizing DOTMLPFI construct, containing operational and exercising requirements and procedures is agreed upon and delivered. DOTMLPFI recommendations are given Better view on the specific requirements to operate in a confined and shallow environment. Multinational forces (local and joining) can prepare to conduct JCOpCW Follow on Actions made possible possible Exercise in 2017 / 2018 (Utilization of Northern Coast Series?!) 7 Smart Defence Initiative initiated.
