How he made it?
How the Crop Competition got started? Some farmers contacted Käytännön Maamies magazine in the beginning of 1990 and told about big yields they got in Kemira s field experiments The editor in chief Paavo Tuovinen (1997-1997) visited some farms and wrote stories about them He got an idea to have a crop competition in the magazine 1993 barley yield 8 750 kg/ha In Kemira s field experiment
The first Crop Competition 1994 with barley Esa Mustonen was organising it Biggest yield (moisture 15 %, later 14 %) per ha
Next one 1996 with barley and rye Barley 9 t/ha, rye 7 t/ha (14 %) Yields were so big readers didn t believe it s true Since 2000 also the best profit per hectar

Evolo in Ilmajoki 8 540 kg/ha.
