Internal evaluation. The whole project staff and all co-organisers will be evaluating themselves by reporting, counting, producing, planning and implementing the project activities. At the first big meeting in Copenhagen, the plan of the project will be revised and this will also serve as a reminder to every one of the real goals of the project.

Did we achieve our project goals so far? 1. To facilitate exchange amongst artists from all over the continent and develop excellency in their skills and motives; 2. To create encounters between artists and non-artistic communities and to unleash the creative potential inherent to all of us; 3. To create high quality international performances that will tour in European theatres and festivals; 4. To raise awareness of issues of Europe today, starting from different community identities to new possible common European identities and the base of a common European citizenship; 5. To highlight the link between myths and modern society; 6. To create links between competences all over Europe and a new network of theatre professionals; 7. To give a voice to the elderly in Europe, like in the Odyssey, in the relationship between Nestor, Odysseus and Telemachus; 8. To tell the stories of young people in Europe and engage them in arts and theatre; 9. To collect pieces of contemporary history and ensure the sustainable development of artistic and human dialogue in Europe.

Itsearvioinnin merkitys Meeting the Odyssey projektille Knowing what others have done, because during the tour often there were no contacts or opportunities for exchange, meeting with other artists, being there would have been great and vital. To exchange experiences and face problems during the project in a neutral way. To stop for a second and try to put words on the journey we were in. I felt that the evaluation-sessions were really important for the work during the project. Especially as it was an ongoing work for three years!
Itsearvioinnin merkitys Meeting the Odyssey projektille Final report: The evaluation procedures have helped the project partners and participants to follow the ideas and objectives of the project and also, to a certain extent, to learn from our mistakes.
Itsearvioinnin menetelmistä sanottua: When during an evaluation workshop we split into small groups to discuss how the project had gone and then all the groups shared their comments with the others. It was a big possibility to have a mentor-person from the outside that was able to moderate the conversation. I feel it would have made things easier to have taken more time for evaluation.
