SRA topics (for discussion) Big themes: Big data access to large scale multidimensional biological, health and wellness (consumer generated) data Progress in cognitive computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning Data analysis, personalized medicine, decision support etc Health care process optimization Service automation in health and social care Key questions to address What opportunities for research, new products and new services does this offer? Who are the key beneficiaries and stakeholders? What is the ecosystem? What kind of collaboration models and funding would be needed / critical? What is needed (competence, investment, work)? Key boundary conditions which need to be recognized and managed (legal, ethical, organizational, national, etc)? Sizing of the opportunities and investment needs 31/03/2017 13

SRA process
SRA process The SRA work is done in collaboration with Finnish industry, public (hospitals, biobanks, etc.) and research as well as with key international players. Phase 1: Plan and communicate (17.3.) Define SRA process, goals and tentative topics. Plan is done in collaboration with key industry/public/research participants (Finnish, international). Result: draft SRA outline (PPT) and SRA work process Phase 2: Open SRA workshops (31.3.) Organise SRA workshops (5) in different cities (Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Jyväskylä) & other meetings and workshops, Workshop facilitators (4) and coordinators from VTT. Result: draft SRA (PPT) with ecosystem input (business opportunities, key ecosystem players, key research needs and themes, targets) Phase 3: SRA outline, first draft (17.4.) Write first version of Kalewa SRA I, comments together with core writing team (VTT + other key stakeholders) Result: draft SRA (word) document Phase 4: SRA finalization (28.4.) SRA plan communication and refinement with international and domestic partners and key stakeholders. Finalisation of the SRA document Result: final SRA document (word) Phase 5: SRA I presentation (31.5.) Presentation of the SRA for key stakeholders and decision makers. Iteration based on feedback as necessary. Result: completed work 31/03/2017 21
