Building a Pyramid Crossroads and Road Signs along the Paths to Employement
Through this project we are disseminating the most important and practical results and good practices that we have achieved in our seven projects funded by European Social Fund.
Those projects are focused on Developing of the general labor market skills such as entrepreneurial attitude of the students and Creating open and flexible learning environments and study paths for the students.
DIVERSED STUDY PATHS Diversed study paths project aims to prevent young people from exclusion. On the other hand the aim of the project is to promote the students' completion of the profession within a reasonable time. A number of versatile, flexible and the doctrine of individual paths are developed during the project that allow the maximum number of students move from the elementary to the vocational education and preserve their interest in their profession and skills development. There are four study paths to be built during the project: a) a path for students needing special attendance b) a path for students suffering from mental and other health problems c) a path for immigrants d) a path for students considering changing the field of vocational education
Etelä-Pohjanmaan Pajoilta Urille is developing a new kind of cooperative model in Finland. The models purpose would be to answer two group s needs: The students in Sedu and youngsters working in youth workshops in South Ostrobotnia area. The model is new in Finland, so domestic partners for this kind of model are hard to find. The project is an ESF-funded youth workshops development project. Its purpose is to develop workshops, functions, and business skills, to enhance co-operation between the workshops and Upper secondary education institutions. In addition, the project has launched in house co-operative activities. The project also piloted in the school premises summer use and the development of career guidance for young people.
The main aim of the project is to arrange events at the Vocational education Centre Sedu. Also involve the students to act with the co-operation partners at their events and simultaneously to learn event production areas on a real event. There is event production models produced at the project to be used at the different Sedu locations. The main goals of the projects: 1. To develop the self-motivated and internal entrepreneurship of the students 2. To add the co-operation between the teaching points and the students and the personnel in order to increase the team work skills of the students and the personnel 3. To give the students the opportunity to learn by the master-apprentice model and to give the students a possibility to act with a professional side by side 4. To give the students the possibility to utilize the special skills and creativity during the studies 5. To create new and authentic vocational demonstrations environments
SeDuuni-results-to work the ESF project aims to promote and deepen the co-operation between educational and work life and to develop new methods of secondary vocational education components to implement in real work environments. The project implemented cooperation projects were: For the students: contacts in the job market and possible future jobs practical knowledge of your field improved work skills stronger employment opportunities
For the worklife: to be able to participate in development of vocational training from the perspective of work life closer contacts with the teachers of the learning on the job program develop the skills of staff orientation and counseling for work For teachers: to try out new teaching methods to expand learning environments workplace-oriented approach and the use of contacts in their own teaching
The aim of the project was to reinforce entrepreneurial learning culture in general and vocational education in Southern Osthrobotnia region. The focus was to create models of entrepreneurship education for local needs. The process of creating local models included: Discussions and descriptions of the goals and methods of entrepreneurship education Workshops where teachers, principals and entrepreneurs cooperated Education and training sessions of what entrepreneurship education is all about
South Ostrobothnia YES Centre to help the province of primary, secondary schools and vocational school teachers in the implementation of entrepreneurship education. The center is a network for developing entrepreneurial education on different education levels YES-center facilities are curriculum development services, entrepreneurship education material services, teacher training, school-enterprise cooperation Young Entrepreneur Association's regional offices.
Organizes work life and teacher exchange programs; the exchange program that allows private company or other organization employees to experience the education side. Implemented through the development of control processes and by carrying out work sequences to support and promote the-job learning and skills demonstrations of quality, workplace trainers assessment skills and improve fluency assessment visits. The project results and good practices will be utilized by all Sedu teaching points, teachers, education support staff, and management, as well as partner companies, job supervisors, and stakeholders. The project results and best practices are utilized nationally and internationally.
While sharing these findings, we are learning more on those topics from our international partners. To be able to achieve this goal we have planned five workshops to be held in Finland and abroad between Spring 2012 and Fall 2013.

Pyramid -hankkeen työseminaari- Learning Cafe yhteiseen kehittämistyöhön hyvien käytänteiden soveltamiseksi alueellemme Teemat: 1. Yrittäjyyskasvatuksen menetelmät 2. Työpajatoiminnan ja sosiaalisten yritysten mahdollisuudet 3. Opiskelija hyvinvoinnin työkalut 4. Koulun ulkopuolella olevat oppimisympäristöt
Joulukuussa 2013 Pyramid-hanke järjesti työseminaarin, jossa esiteltiin hankkeen toimintaa. Yksi tämän seminaarin päätoiminnoista oli Learning Cafe osuus, jossa projektiryhmä esitteli kansainvälisten yhteistyökumppaneiden hyviä käytänteitä. Tässä seminaarissa ja sisäisissä palavereissa käytyjen keskustelujen perusteella valittiin esitellyistä hyvistä käytänteistä kolme käytännettä, joita lähdettiin pilotoimaan alueellamme ja Koulutuskeskus Sedussa.
a) Työpajatoiminnan kehittämismahdollisuudet Pyramid-hankkeen ensimmäisen ja toisen workshopin osallistujilla oli tilaisuus tutustua Belgiassa nuorten työpajojen hyviin käytänteisiin; toiminnan brändäykseen ja kierrättämiseen. 10.12.2013 järjestetyn seminaarin Learning Café:ssa osallistujat osoittivat erityistä mielenkiintoa nuorten työpajojen mielikuvan parantamiseen.
Hankkeen jatkoajalla pilotoitiin työpajojen ja oppilaitoksen välistä yhteistyötä. Pilotissa olivat mukana Työpaja Junki Kauhavalta ja Kaks kättä Työpaja Oy Seinäjoelta sekä artesaaniopiskelijoita opettajineen Sedu Ilmajoen Pappilantieltä. Opiskelijat suorittivat opintojaan suunnittelemalla uusia tuotteita työpajojen kierrätysmateriaaleista sekä työpajoille lahjoitetuista uusista materiaaleista. He myös valmistivat mallikappaleet suunnittelemistaan tuotteista, ja esittelivät ne työpajojen edustajille samalla keskustellen tuotteiden yksityiskohdista ja valmistustekniikasta heidän kanssaan.
b) Mentoritoiminta Isossa-Britanniassa, Manchesterissa järjestetyssä workshopissa osallistujat pääsivät tutustumaan eri koulutusasteilla toteutettavaan laajaan tutorointi- ja mentorointitoimintaan. Jatkoajalla tätä toimintaa pilotoitiin järjestämällä mentorikoulutus Koulutuskeskus Sedun valmistavan ja valmentavan koulutuksen opiskelijoille.
Koulutuksen pääasiallinen tavoite oli tutustuttaa opiskelijat siihen, mitä mentorointi on sekä antaa heille valmiuksia toimia tulevaisuudessa mentorina Sedun valmistavan ja valmentavan koulutuksen opiskelijoille Sedu-tutustumisviikon aikana. Pilotointi suoritettiin Sedu Lapuan valmistavan ja valmentavan koulutuksen opiskelijoille yhteistyössä heidän opettajansa kanssa.
c) Elämyksellisyys koulutuksessa Sloveniaan suuntautuneella levitysmatkalla huomattiin sikäläisen yhteistyökumppanin korostavan lämyksellisyyden/kokemuksellisuuden tärkeää merkitystä koulutuksessa.
Arvioidaksemme Sedussa olemassa olevia hyviä käytänteitä tällä saralla Pyramid-hanke järjesti kilpailun, jonka kilpailukutsu lähettiin Sedun henkilöstölle ja opiskelijoille sähköpostitse. Kilpailussa haettiin upeita toiminnallisia/kokemuksellisia/elämyksellisiä tapoja toteuttaa opetusta. Kilpailuun tuli useita vastauksia eri perustutkinnoista ja eri Sedun opetuspisteistä.
Vastauksissa tuotiin esiin mm. Perioperatiivinen hoitotyön toimintakokonaisuus, jossa saatu mm. opintokäyntien kautta kattavasti tietoa aiheesta. Ensihoidon case-tyyppiset harjoitukset. Pop-up ravintola. Kierrätysmateriaaleista valmistetut Unicef-nuket, jotka myytiin vähintään 20 :n hintaan. Myyntituotolla saadaan elintärkeät rokotukset yhdelle lapselle jossain köyhässä maassa.
