Kaupallinen teknologia? Commercial Technology Law & Legal Definition According to 10 CFR 609.2 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter H Assistance Regulations; Part 609 Loan Guarantees for Projects that Employ Innovative Technologies], Commercial Technology means a technology in general use in the commercial marketplace in the United States at the time the Term Sheet is issued by DOE. A technology is in general use if it has been installed in and is being used in three or more commercial projects in the United States in the same general application as in the proposed project, and has been in operation in each such commercial project for a period of at least five years. The five-year period shall be measured, for each project, starting on the in service date of the project or facility employing that particular technology. For purposes of this section, commercial projects include projects that have been the recipients of a loan guarantee from DOE under this part. 10 30.5.2013
Valley of Death Source: Osawa and Miyazaki, 2006 According to a Gompers and Lerner study, the challenge is very real, with 90% of new ventures that don t attract investors failing within the first three years. The problem is that professional investors (Angels and Venture Capital) want a proven business model before they invest, ready to scale, rather than the more risky research and development efforts (Martin Zwilling, Forbes, 2013). 11 30.5.2013
