Coordinating the collaboration with other work packages State-of-the-art/ Senate Properties (COBIM, Nordic Energy, Concept Design BIM collaboration) Lemminkäinen Master thesis (2), reports of SimLab and CRADLE Current best practices in utilizing BIM in design, project management and construction and the bottlenecks in collaboration between design and construction in case Kuopio have been collected and described. The simulation of the operative process (as-is) in collaboration with SimLab and the project participants in case Kuopio is done (Reports of SimLab and CRADLE and the master thesis of Harri Niemi,10/2011). Defining the data content and the utilization possibilities of as-built model in maintenance is in the works to be completed. (Master thesis of Mikko Mäläskä, 11/2011) Developing the process of collaboration between design and construction phases, and describing the new developed practices and the operative process (to-be) is beginning. To-be process and new developed practices will be tested in the following project of case Kuopio. Page 10

Task 1: IPD and LEAN Plan for 2012 (-2013) Study and implement elements which can be feasibly implemented in the Finnish context 2011 end detailed plan in place Task 2: Contract models and metrics contract models should support collaboration metrics should make relevant information transparent to all parties PRE collaboration: talks to be initiated with InfraFinBIM regarding contract models, and with NewWOW regarding metrics Task 3: Process and use cases Developing generalized process model, identifying the steps required, to serve as platform for further development 2011 end detailed plan in place PRE collaboration: talks to be initiated regarding permit process with BIMCity The tasks interrelate and interact throughout the project. Also consortium partner interests span across the individual tasks. Results from 1 & 3 are to be integrated in the beginning of next year. At that point the subprocesses to be developed jointly will be identified and internal task forces formed according to subject matter expertise. Page 13
