ICE-työharjoittelu ICE maisteriohjelmassa työharjoittelu suoritetaan realiaikaisesti nettiporataalissa työharjoittelun aikana Suhteellisen työläs saa paljon opintopisteitä 12-16max. Opintopistemäärä perustuu työharjoitteluaikaan Nettiportaali vaihtunut WebCT BSCW - Moodle
ICE-työharjoittelu Tarkoituksena on, että jos opiskelija ei saa esim. työharjoittelupalkkaa työharjoittelusta, niin hän pystyy sen aikana suorittamaan opintopisteitä voi nostaa opintorahaa Ja tarkoituksena on että opiskelija / työharjoittelija pystyy soveltamaan teoreettista tietoa käytäntöön eli katsoo opintojen kautta työharjoittelua / työharjoittelupaikkaa / toimintoja / tilanteita etc.
ICE työharjoittelu Ennen työharjoittelun aloittamista opiskelija tulee sopimaan asiasta suunnittelijan kanssa Työharjoittelun pitää sopia maisteriohjelman teemaan kulttuurienvälinen vuorovaikutus Niin maisteriohjelmalaiset kuin sivuaineopiskelijat voivat suorittaa työharjoittelun Opiskelijat lisätään nettiportaaliin / Moodleen käyttäjiksi hallinnoijan toimesta

Työharjoittelusuunnitelma Following information should be included in the Trainee Plan: Name of the trainee Student number Work placement and the contact information Contact person at work placement Duration of the trainee and dates of start and finish Work description (what have you agreed on doing during your trainee?) Own goals regarding the trainee (why did you choose this work place?) The exact dates, when you answer the questions. Depending on the duration of your trainee, plan the dates, so that you are going to be aswering the questions every other week. The exact date, when you are returning the written trainee report to the Moodle (this should be approximately 3 weeks after your traineeship has ended.) Bring the Trainee Plan into Moodle to the, so that other students can read it.

Remember to answer the questions on the dates that you have informed in your trainee plan! Answer the questions as follows: Q1- when you have been in trainee for 2 weeks Q2- when you have been in trainee for 4 weeks Q3- when you have been in trainee for 6 weeks Q4- when you have been in trainee for 8 weeks Q5- when you have been in trainee for 10 weeks Q6- when you have been in trainee for 12 weeks Q7- when you have been in trainee for 14 weeks Q8- when you have been in trainee for 16 weeks Start by aswering question 1 and continue in the chronological order through out your traineeship.

Make sure you comment each trainee student at least once during your Trainee Forum period in Moodle. Comment those who are actively doing the trainee same time with you. Notice - you do not need to comment old Moodle answers and you can stop commenting when you return your Trainee Report. Please note that giving comments is compulsory.

Why so? Why not? Please describe in detail. QUESTION 2: Describe your work place and your tasks - Describe the operational environment at your work place (business activity, information coordinating? etc.?) - What are your most important tasks at the moment? Have they met your expectations? - Have your expectations about working life been realistic? - Have your tasks been pleasant, have they developed your learning, working skills and communication skills? QUESTION 3: How does interculturalism appear at your work place? - What are the different levels and contexts in which interculturalism becomes obvious at your work place? - Tell about the different intercultural reference groups that you come across at your work place.

QUESTION 5: 1) Reflect your traineeship period. What do intercultural encounters and intercultural communication mean to you now? How would you define these terms? 2) What value does traineeship add to your Master's Degree?

Discuss following themes in detail: 1) Theoretical learning What have you learned about intercultural encounters? How has your theoretical knowledge deepened? 2) Communication skills Have you learned anything new for example about relationship skills, group work and customer service, giving and receiving critique, communication and negotiation skills? 3) Organization and work life related skills Have you gained any "concrete" skills? ( for example IT-skills?) How does your traineeship organization work? What is the decision making process like at your work place? 4) Career planning skills What have you learned about what motivates you, and what you are interested in? What kind of feed-back have you received from your traineeship instructor? What kind of impact has the traineeship had on your self-confident?
Raportointi / kysymyksiin vastaaminen QUESTION 7: 1) Find out how intercultural encounters (for example multiculturalism, diversity, equality) are taken into consideration at your work place. Has there been working groups, events or investigations relating to these matters at your work place? Is all the information relating to these matters open for all the employees? If there is no action like mentioned above at your work place, think about why this is? Is there something planned? If there is a lot of action like mentioned above at your work place think about why this is. Do you see the handeling of intercultural matters at your work place sufficient? In your opinion, what could be done more? If you want write down few ideas how intercultural issues should be considered in working life in general. QUESTION 8: Present a theory from the field of intercultural encounters and briefly explain the content of it. Then apply the theory to your work place. You can apply the theory as you wish concerning the whole work place, certain unit, situation or the personnel
Työharjoitteluraportti Trainee report should be returned approximately after 3 weeks of the ending of your trainee on the date that you have informed in your trainee plan. Please give information in the report about how you funded your trainee. Trainee reports are going to be red by the ICE-coordinator only. INSTRUCTIONS ON WRITING TRAINEE REPORT Report should be 12-15 pages in length. Discuss your experiences as a trainee in the report. Please make sure that your report is not a copy of the matters discussed in the moodle answers. ICE-Master s Programme does not require that reports are approved by the employer, how ever a copy of a letter of reference should be attached to the report.
Työharjoitteluraportti In your report reflect your academical studies to ICE-trainee. You can think for example following questions: During your trainee, did you put in use knowledge gained in the ICE-programme courses? In your opinion, how could courses in this programme better answer to needs of working life? Think about some of the tasks in your trainee through the discourses in intercultural encounters. Give short examples of events or tasks and apply the university pragmatics in them. Describe you workmodes and possible projects. What are your strenghts and weeknesses in working life and how could you improve your weeknesses? What is the impact of this trainee to your possible career plans? What are the most important outcomes of this trainee to you and your future career?
Pienryhmäkeskustelu When minimum of 3 students have completed their trainee, group discussion will be held. In the discussion each student will give short (5-10 min.) presentation about one topic which interested him/her in the trainee. After each presentation, group will discuss about upcoming matters together. Group discussion dates and places are confirmed by the Coordinator when enough students have completed a trainee.
