What shall be done?

I Saves for maintenance of infrastructure needs value choices and compact built environment Choices according to life cycle costs; not only lowest tender price More money to maintenance at right timing to avoid damages of structures and too early expensive rebuilt of structures. Prior to structures which are important to peoples healthy and economy Focus on compressing existing community structure by new construction Carefull consideration: Are all nowadays infrastructures important; shal we demolish some structures?

Municipal invest per inhabitant to different type of residential areas (Tampere) Public services Parks and recreation areas Energy networks Water netwoks Parking facilities Streets and roads Site build up Planning Tammela = Infill area Tampella = New area within downtown Vuores=nature forest

II Encouragement to energy and resource efficiency Save best rock materials to demanding structures More recycle of soil materials. More use for building waste material, more effective permission processes, more use local renewal energy sources Environmental Permission procedure must be syncronized with construction processes to encourage recycling of materials!

III Savings with 360 degree cooperation Better productivity with developing together procurement method, inhabitant hearing methods and construction processes. Projects good progress with co operation inhabitants of region. Wide use of new procurement methods: alliance, etc. Development also traditional good procurement methods Let s use R&D results in construction

IV Better Productivity with New Technologies Digitalization: Not only BIM for one single project but modelling region and all structures little by little. Modelling is a tool, cumulative information database, where data transfers from company to company and organization from beginning of the project to the end. Machineautomation, robotics, small excavators use in city centrum sites, GPS, UAV, More courage to take new technology in use!

V eservices finally to wide use More Open data based commercial services Lets consider also enduser developing eservices Letsusemoresocial media getting feedback in project planning phase, delivering informastion. More use of all kinds of eservices. Lets finally have email address for all contractors!

VI Update everybody s know how Education for all workers which have no training for civil engineering works. Fullfill professional workers know how also managers, authorities and teachers skills. Update all education levels teaching plans to aswer future need of know how. Order organizations must require competences in projects and encourage education with different kinds of carrots

VII More educated worker Summer jobs for beginners ( first year students) Less study breaks Better regional balance employment and education Actions to achieve Better attraction to infrastructure construction sector and education.

VIII Zero tolerance for No more: Serious accidents Molesting, interruption etc, Quality errors Bad leading Infrastructure construction site is a Good working place
