Kolmannen vuosikurssin pääaineen yleiskuvaus: Vuoden aikana tavoite on, että kukin opiskelija pohtii omia tavoitteitaan ja omaa rooliaan suunnittelijana. Pohjoismainen arkkitehtuuri- ja muotoilutraditio on voimakkaasti kytkeytynyt ajatukseen hyvinvointivaltiosta. Nyt pohjoismainen hyvinvointivaltiomalli on monien eri syiden takia voimakkaiden muutospaineiden kohteena. Mihin sinä olet omalla työpanoksellasi yhteiskuntaa suuntaamassa. Tässä muotoilija on hyvinvointi palvelujen tuottaja. Pohdittavia kysymyksiä ovat esimerkkisi: Mitkä ovat elämäntapamme muutoshaasteet? Miten pohjoismainen traditio vastaa haasteisiin? Mikä on oma roolisi tradition eteenpäin viejänä, uudistajan tai muuttajana? Löydä oma ääni: sisältö ja tyyli Mieti mitä asioita sinä haluisit tehdä, mitä asioita haluisit haluaisit edistää ja miten se tapahtuisi.
Heikki Määttänen Background: Architect, sculptor A long time ago I was a "pen". Now, I'm a lecturer, I teach at the Department of Design / Interior Architecture major subject. My vision of the current situation: Currently, we are on a plateau The general perception is that we can continue our lives as before, except for some small course corrections. Like old modernists, we rely on the technology's ability to solve our problems. We, the designers are committed to this kind of modernist values and aesthetics. Lately I have been thinking of the possibility of a "plan B. Concepts like resilience and EroEi are relevant and important to me. Now, I am trying become familiar with digital drawing. Broken mirror For each time period the typical mode of life, aesthetics and energy are closely linked to each other.

Energy Slave The term was first used by R. Buckminster Fuller in the caption of an illustration for the cover of the February 1940 issue of Fortune Magazine, entitled "World Energy". Alfred Ubbelohde also coined the term, apparently independently, in his 1955 book, "Man and Energy", but the term did not come to be widely used until the 1960s, and is generally credited to Fuller.
energy returned on energy invested (EROEI or ERoEI); or energy return on investment (EROI), His prediction in 1956 that U.S.oil production would peak in about 1970 and decline thereafter was scoffed at then but his analysis has since proved to be remarkably accurate.

Le Corbusier s Five Points Towards A New Architecture 1. Supports The replacement of supporting walls by a grid of reinforced concrete columns that bears the load of the structure is the basis of the new aesthetic. 2. Roof gardens The flat roof can be utilization for a domestic purpose while also providing essential protection the concrete roof. 3. The free designing of the ground plan The absence of supporting walls means that the house is unrestrained in its internal usage. 4. The free design of facade By separating the exterior of the building form its structural function the façade becomes free. 5. The horizontal window The façade can be cut along its entire length to allow rooms to be lit equally.
