Johdanto Introduction Johdanto Introduction Teknologiateollisuuden tilastollinen vuosikirja 218 Tähän tilastolliseen vuosikirjaan on koottu perustiedot ja tärkeimmät teknologiateollisuutta koskevat tilastot vuodelta 217 sekä sitä edeltäviltä vuosilta historiallisen taustan valottamiseksi. Tilastojen avulla esitellään teknologiateollisuuden vuositason suhdannekehitystä, tuotannon, henkilöstön ja ulkomaankaupan rakenteita, kannattavuutta, rahoitusasemaa sekä kansainvälistä vertailua. Tietoa taulukoissa ja kuvaajissa käytetyistä taustaaineistoista sekä toimialaluokituksista on taulukoiden alaviitteissä sekä vuosikirjan lopussa. Finnish Technology Industries Statistical Yearbook 218 In this statistical yearbook you will find basic information and the most important statistics concerning the Finnish technology industry in 217 and in recent history. From these statistics you will get a clear picture of the technology industry annual development in output, personnel, foreign trade, profitability, financial position and international standing. Information about the statistics and classifications used in this publication can be found at the end of the yearbook. Suomen tärkein teollisuudenala Suomen kokonaistuotannon volyymi (reaalinen BKT) on 19- ja 2-luvuilla kasvanut teollisuuden vetämänä 3-kertaiseksi. Teknologiateollisuuden, Suomen merkittävimmän teollisuudenalan, tuotantomäärä on samana aikana kasvanut 158-kertaiseksi ja ollut ehdoton kasvun ajuri. Teknologiateollisuuden kehitys erkaantui koko teollisuuden kasvusta 198-luvun alussa, jonka jälkeen alan tuotanto on kasvanut tuntuvasti nopeammin kuin teollisuuden kaskimäärin. Teknologiateollisuuden tuotannon ja Suomen hyvinvoinnin kasvu on perustunut erityisesti tuottavuuden kasvuun, joka on ollut kansainvälisestikin verraten nopeaa. Vuonna 28 alkaneen finanssikriisin jälkeiset vuodet ovat kuitenkin olleet erityisesti teollisuuden toimialoille hyvin vaikeita. Tästä on seurannut Suomen historiassa ennennäkemätön kymmenen vuotta kestänyt taantuma. Tätä kirjoitettaessa syksyllä 218 näyttää, että vuoden 28 huippu ylitettiin vasta vuoden 218 kesällä. The Most Important Industrial Sector in Finland The Finnish total production (Real GDP), driven by the growth in manufacturing industry, has 3- fold during the 2th and the 21st century. The most important industry branch in Finland - the technology industry has grown its output volume 158-fold during the past 12 years driving the growth of the whole nation. It was in the early 198s that the path of the technology industries diverged from that of the rest of the Finnish manufacturing industry. Since then, the output rates of the sector have exceeded the industrial averages by a high margin. The growth in the Finnish technology industry and the wealth of the nation has based largely on productivity growth which has been fast even on international standards. Years after 28 global financial crisis have been extremely difficult especially for industrial branches. This has led to unprecedented depression that lasted for ten years. At the time of writing this yearbook in autumn 218 it seems that Finlands gdb finally exceeded its previous peak at 28. Vuosikirja 218 / Year book 218 3
Teknologiateollisuus 217 Vuosi 217 vahvan kasvun aikaa Teknologiateollisuudessa Teknologiateollisuuden liikevaihdossa ohitettiin talouskriisin synkin vaihe vuoden 21 alussa. Sen jälkeen liikevaihto elpyi vuoden 211 loppuun asti. Vuonna 212 teknologiateollisuuden yritysten liikevaihto lähti kuitenkin uudestaan laskuun, erityisesti loppuvuosi oli alalle vaikea. Lasku jatkui myös koko vuoden 213 ajan. Vuonna 214 liikevaihto näytti kääntyvän kasvuun. Lievää kasvua riitti vuoden 215 puoleen väliin asti, jonka jälkeen liikevaihto putosi jälleen vuoden 214 alun tasolle. Vuoden 216 puolenvälin aikoihin liikevaihto kääntyi kasvuun, jota on kestänyt aina tämän raportin kirjoittamiseen asti (lokakuu 218). Teollisuuden rakennemuutos iski erittäin voimakkaasti teknologiateollisuuden toimialalle vuonna 212. Suomi menetti runsaasti suuren volyymin tuotantoa. Rakenteellinen muutos isossa mittakaavassa jatkui vuonna 213. Yritystasolla tilanteet kuitenkin vaihtelevat merkittävästi. Koko alan kannalta tyypillistä on ennustehorisontin lyhyys ja epävarmuus tulevien kuukausien kehityksestä. Ennustetarkkuus on yhtä heikko sekä suurissa että pienemmissä yrityksissä. Globaali rakennemuutos merkitsee myös sitä, että suuret yritykset keskittävät hankintojaan aiempaa harvemmille alihankkijayrityksille. Tämä muutos koskee myös Suomea. Teknologiateollisuuden yritysten henkilöstön määrä Suomessa nousi selvästi vuonna 21 verrattuna edelliseen vuoteen ollen n. 3. Tytäryrityksissä ulkomailla henkilöstön määrä laski hiukan vuoteen 216 verrattuna ollen noin 284. Elektroniikka- ja sähköteollisuuden liikevaihto kääntyi viimein kasvuun Elektroniikka- ja sähköteollisuuden (tietoliikennelaitteet, sähkökoneet, instrumentit) liikevaihto Suomessa kasvoi vuonna 217 noin viisi prosenttia edellisvuotisesta ollen 14,4 miljardia euroa. Yritysten tavaravienti Suomesta oli euromääräisesti 12 prosenttia suurempi kuin vuonna 216. Elektroniik- Technology Industries in 217 Strong growth in Finnish technology industry in 217 The turnover of the technology industries started to rise from the deepest recession at the beginning of 21. After that, turnover continued to recover to the end of year 211. At the year 212 turnover started to go down again. Especially end of the year 212 were difficult for companies of technology industry. Turnover continued to fall whole year 213. In year 214 the decline in turnover finally ended. Moderate growth continued till mid-215. After that turnover dropped again back to the level of early 214. About mid 216 turnover finally started to increase again. Growth has lasted at least to the moment of writing this report (October 218). Structural change in industry struck quite hardly to technology industry in year 212. Finland lost quite a bit high volume production. Structural change continued in year 213. However, the situation in individual companies varies to a considerable degree. The short length of the forecast horizon and the uncertain trend for the future months are typical for the entire sector. Forecast accuracy is equally poor in large and smaller companies alike. The global structural change also means that major companies centre their purchases on fewer subcontractors than before. This change also applies to Finland. The number of employees in technology industries in Finland increased in year 217 when compared to previous year. The number of employees in Finland totalled 3,. The number of employees in overseas subsidiaries decreased slightly in year 216. In year 216, the number of employees overseas totalled approximately 284,. Turnover of the electronics and electrotechnical finally started to rise The turnover of the electronics and electrotechnical industry (telecommunications equipment, electric equipment, instruments) in Finland increased about 5 per cent in 217 and amounted to EUR 14.4 billion. Johdanto Introduction ka- ja sähköteollisuudessa henkilöstön väheneminen Suomessa jatkui läpi vuoden 217: henkilöstö väheni vuoden aikana kaikkiaan 5 % ja oli keskimäärin 37 8. Kone- ja metallituoteteollisuudessa vahvaa kasvua Kone- ja metallituoteteollisuuden (koneet, metallituotteet, kulkuneuvot) liikevaihto Suomessa oli 29,9 miljardia euroa vuonna 217. Liikevaihto nousi 6,2 % edellisvuodesta. Yritysten tavaravienti Suomesta oli euromääräisesti 27 prosenttia suurempi kuin vuonna 216. Kone- ja metallituoteteollisuudessa henkilöstön määrä nousi Suomessa vuonna 217 3,1 %. Henkilöstön määrä oli keskimäärin 127 9. Metallien jalostuksen liikevaihto voimakkaassa kasvussa Metallien jalostusyritysten (terästuotteet, värimetallit, valut, metallimalmien louhinta) liikevaihto Suomessa oli 1,1 miljardia euroa vuonna 217. Liikevaihto nousi peräti 17,5 % edellisvuotisesta. Yritysten tavaravienti Suomesta oli euromääräisesti 24 prosenttia suurempi kuin vuonna 216. Metallien jalostuksessa henkilöstön määrä nousi 1,3 prosenttia edellisvuodesta ollen vuonna 217 keskimäärin 16 1. Suunnittelu- ja konsulttialan liikevaihto kasvoi edelleen Suunnittelu- ja konsulttialan (teollisuuden, yhteiskunnan ja rakentamisen asiantuntijapalvelut) liikevaihto Suomessa oli 6, miljardia euroa vuonna 217. Liikevaihto kasvoi 5,8 % edellisvuotisesta. Suunnittelu- ja konsulttialan henkilöstö Suomessa nousi 2,6 prosenttia vuonna 217 ja oli keskimäärin 5 9. Tietotekniikka-alan voimakas kasvu jatkui Tietotekniikka-alan (tietotekniikkapalvelut, ohjelmistot) yritysten liikevaihto Suomessa oli 12,3 miljardia euroa vuonna 217. Liikevaihto kasvoi 4,4 % edellisvuotisesta. Tietotekniikka-alan henkilöstö Suomessa kasvoi 8,8 prosenttia vuonna 216 ja oli 66 9. The reduction in the number of employees in the electronics and electrotechnical industry in Finland continued in 217: during the year, the number of employees fell by 5 per cent to 37,8. Strong growth in mechanical engineering The turnover of the mechanical engineering (machinery, metal products, vehicles) in Finland was at EUR 29.9 billion in 217. The turnover increased 6.2 % comparing to the previous year. Companies export of goods from Finland was 27 per cent higher in euros than in 216. The number of employees in mechanical engineering in Finland in 217 increased by 3,1 per cents from the previous year being about 127,9. Turnover of the metals industry increased strongly The turnover of the metals industry (steel products, non-ferrous metals, casting, mining of metal ores) in Finland stood at EUR 1.1 billion in 217. The turnover increased by 17,5 per cent comparing to the previous year. Companies export of goods from Finland was 24 per cent higher in euros than in 216. The number of employees in the metals industry in Finland in 216 increased by 1.3 per cents from the previous year being about 16,1. Turnover in the consulting engineering ontinued to grow The turnover of consulting engineering (expert services for industry, society and construction) in Finland amounted to EUR 6. billion in 217. The turnover grew 5.8 % from the previous year. The number of employees in consulting engineering in Finland in 217 increased 2.6 % to 5,9. Strong growth continued in the information technology sector The turnover of information technology companies (information technology services, software) in Finland totalled EUR 12,3 billion in 217.
