4 Microsystems Topics Valmistusliiketoiminta (M. Tilli); not a project plan, to be discussed separately Piezo-aktuointi (H. Kuisma) to be discussed Elektroniikkaplatformit (T. Salo) probably not a project proposal for Tekes open call Fysiologiset anturit (M. Paulasto) to be postponed, to be discussed separately MEMS luotettavuus (T. Mattila) a new topic Piezo-actuators on MEMS Markku Ylilammi, VTT Picoprojector? Focus on technologies suitable for MEMS manufacturing MEMS reliability Toni Mattila Aalto university VTi could provide industrial samples bonding surfaces of CSOI is in the interest of Okmetic The ESIP (efficient system in package) project has received positive signals from EU and starts in April. A new project could bring this into Finlad, i.e. security issues to Vaisala Jyrki Kiihamäki / Ilkka Suni VTT
5 Printed intelligence +optical This group will stick on the project idea presented today by GE Virtanen Proposal will be written by Antti Kemppainen and Kari Rönkä VTT Ikonen GE Aronniemi Vaisala Savisalo Savcor, to be checked 2 year, > 500 k Competitive positions and possible obstacles to be checked This project will stay focused and no more ideas are invited Interconnection with Mäntysalo s proposal rechecked; will it be in Eemeli? Matti Koivu Oulu Innovation
6 Optics Responsive guys (Karioja VTT, Uusimaa Modulight) were absent, visiting Photonics West in San Francisco The group will stick on already presented plan Possible GE / Vaisala participation will be checked further discussion will continue next week Mobile measurements and services will be finalized and submitted by Mauri Aukio, VTT Pasi Iisakkala Vaisala

11 Final Conclusion Will we bring together some SME topics for EU? EU funding for SME s covers 75 %. Industry driven proposals 130 M last year 3 SMEs in 3 different countries, a 2 M Main criterias for an SME: headcount < 250 people, turnover < 50 M Big companies may coordinate and participate in SME actions, with no funding. Deadline in November/December 2010 (to be checked) Next workshop on Tuesday 4 May at 13 o clock will focus on EU SME proposals and other industrial driven proposals
