In rare cases there are also Judges Special Recognitions. They are positioned between Bronze and the Awards of Excellence. Outstanding individual achievement: Award of Excellence In addition to the main prizes, there are Awards of Excellence for outstanding individual achievements. These awards are also on the winner s list like the main prizes. November 30: Announcement of the winners. 9 The participants come from these countries: Traditionally, the ICMA is very well anchored in the German-speaking world. Many submissions to this independent competition come from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Within Europe companies, agencies and designers from these countries have participated: Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Slovakia, Romania, Spain, Poland, Ukraine and Greece. Submissions outside Europe came from, among others, Singapore, India, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and Russia. Difference to other competitions The ICMA is attended by large agencies as well as design offices and individual designers. Also this year, some companies were awarded for their inhouse produced publications. Unlike other competitions, the ICMA has no nominations. There are ranks 1, 2 and 3 so gold, silver and bronze. Awards of Excellence are awarded for outstanding individual achievements. Often there are photo reports, illustrations or the bookbinding processing, which are honored in this way. This overview also shows some examples of work that has received Awards of Excellence.

11 Logos Fashion Law Catwalk is one of the leading sources in Poland dedicated to the field of fashion law and policy. The team of authors includes specialist intellectual property lawyers. The first letters of the brand s name ( FLC ) were grouped together to form an icon. Papajastudio, Krakow, Poland Pakulski & Partners is a high-class law firm serving customers who need the most professional services. While designing a logo, we were looking for the most powerful and sophisticated symbol. We decided on a contemporary definition of a mythic mysterious creature, a griffin. The logo also brings to mind a chip, or a labyrinth. Papajastudio, Krakow, Poland Since the company was founded in 1981, the Hüttenhölscher screw (left) characterizes the logo. 12 Logos SOBE MIAMI WATERSPORT The pineapple as a locally known sign of hospitality and a symbol of refreshment has been reinterpreted for SoBe Miami Watersport. We used the jointly developed brand drivers: Open-Mindfulness, Freshness & Force of Elements. This was summarized in the new brand for SoBe Miami Watersport. Persuaid, Munich SMT is a data corporation that makes complicated data streams visible to its customers. The new logo makes clear at a glance that SMT is a data company. The dots in the logo represent data points that get meaning through the intervention of SMT. Studio Piraat, The Hague

The A in the middle makes the logo stable, D and C show openness. The lines are also abstracted in the front view of an airplane.
