IN BRIEF Our main partners Where do we see opportunities for cooperation with Russian partners? Two examples for LCCE exports to Russia The specifics of project building with Russians: - Planning - Executing - Reporting
Our main active partners in Russia Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University /the biggest in Saint Petersburg/ Saint Petersburg State University /top N2 in Russia/ Saint-Petersburg State University of Engineering & Economics /particularly Vologda branch/ Baltic State Technical University Voenmeh
What Russian S&T ambitions may mean for foreign partners? countries? - nuclear power technologies - space and rocket systems - construction and exploitation of pipelines - life sciences - ICT systems - new materials - nanotechnologies - rational use of natural resources - energy and energy saving materials - civil aircraft manufacturing KyAMK Kansainvälinen liiketoiminta ja kulttuuri Peter Zashev 11/15/10 4

PROBLEM / Cross border marketing & Advertizing
KyAMK solution: To address these needs in East-West marketing and advertizing KyAMK is currently applying for an ENPI project than links 7 partners in Finland and Russia. Inside the project again we have planned and put the accent on increased cooperation between: Companies Students Lecturers but, what makes it even more interesting, in a crossborder context!
Projects with Russians / planning - It must be personal - Clear objectives - Clear description of the Russian partner role - Clear description of the Russian partner rewards - Concrete list of well described actions what and when is expected from the Russian partner
Projects with Russians / executing - Do you have a contact person? It is a must! - The importance of having deadlines and faked deadlines - Trust but check the issue of quality - When sleepless at night remember Russians have great talent and capability to mobilize obernight - It must be personal!
Projects with Russians / reporting - Different! Very different! - Much more bureaucratic fixed not on what has to be done but on the need to fit in the bureaucracy standards. - Requires constantly reminding them about the need and the way to report - Can cause a lot of adrenaline if and when done through the phone and email
Business culture / remember that - Russians are not good in abstract thinking - Russians are not good in planning and scheduling - Russians tend to promise more that they can actually deliver - Russians tend to think that we are richer and thus supposed to sponsor the whole thing - It is personal that means many visits to Russia and Russians coming here
