Recovery and prerequisites for recovery Surplus soil masses can be utilised in the place of origin (in-situ) or in the vicinity of the site of origin (ex-situ) instead of being transported to landfill. They can be converted into construction/filling material by i.e. stabilisation. Binder components generated in the area can be applied for the needs of stabilisation process (industrial by-products and wastes) as such or mixed with cement or other commercial binders Recovery requires Sufficient information and skills Verification of benefits- economically competitive approach Information system serving the acquisition process 8.1.2016 9
