Learning outcomes Can apply the knowledge and methods learned before in different stages of concept design Can make a synthesis using the classical approach for conceptual design of ships Can analyse the relationships between technological and economical performance indicators of a case ship Other skills to learn: groupworking, critical thinking, Lifelong learning, project management
Course organization Extensive project work Work is done trough five assignments: work plan + delivery Final project work is based on weekly exercises One project group consist of 2-3 person Work plans done by groups are presented in workshops (F175b) Each group presents their working plan for each assignment step The presentation (15 minutes) includes 1. Identification of a gap between the ship project after Ship Conceptual Design -course and project work requirements. 2. The detailed work plan including the justifications of the selections and explanation about the applied methods 3. Expected outcome / results and reporting plan Optional workshops (Computer room Pilssi) is organized on student request The request should be send by email to teachers (heikki.remes@aalto.fi & risto.jalonen@aalto.fi) one day beforehand. The challenges and questions should be included into a email Personal Portfolio Project report References are allowed
