On all types of open-pored, highly structured and dusty flooring Examples: open-pored porcelain stoneware tiles, highly structured ceramic tiles, highly structured stone or artificial stone tiles, wood floors not sealed professionally (for instance using an excessive amount of wax or oil), untreated types of wood, screed or concrete, wall-to-wall carpeting 3 Where should the tile not be laid? On wet floor areas where water collects, such as outdoor areas and balconies. 4 How is the tile supposed to be laid? 4.1 Please clean the floor thoroughly before you lay the tiles (vacuum and mop as needed). 4.2 The tiles are fitted with a protective sheet on the back of the tile. This makes it possible for you to act out a variety of sample scenarios for installation (see sketches on the back page). The tiles cannot be walked on before the protective sheet has been removed (danger of slipping!). 4.3 Once you have determined the final positions for the tiles you can remove the protective sheet from the first tile using the attached tear-off tab, then place the tile in the desired position. If the tiling is taken up frequently and fingers make contact with the adhesive foam side, dust and oily grease find their way on to the foam side. Dust particles and grease subsequently form a layer between the foam backing and the hard-floor surface. This reduces the area of contact and can weaken the tiles adhesion strength to the floor. Dust and grease must be cleaned off this foam surface. Cleaning the foam side takes place in 2 steps: First, a clean, dry microfibre cloth is dampened using a conventional glass cleaner in a spray bottle. Then the foam side of the tile is wiped off evenly with the damp microfibre cloth. Vigorous rubbing should be avoided thereby: this could cause mechanical damage to the foam surface. In the second step, the tile is laid out to dry with the foam side facing upwards. The tile does not regain its full adhesive strength until it has completely dried (after at least 6 hours). Then it can be relaid. Please do not place the tile in direct sunlight or on a radiator to speed up drying. Please do not dry the tile with a hair dryer or other hot-air devices. Never lay the tile while still damp: there is a danger of slipping! To stay on the very safe side, you should first lay one dry tile and check its adhesive strength. The following cleaning utensils are needed: conventional microfibre cloth glass cleaner in a spray bottle 6 How can the tile be cleaned? The tile surface should be vacuumed regularly using a vacuum cleaner. If the bottom of the tile has become soiled, wipe it carefully with a damp rag and allow the tile to dry completely before installing it. If a tile has gotten wet, it must be taken up immediately and dried before it can be relaid. Otherwise the hard flooring located beneath it could be damaged. Make sure that the tile does not get wet when cleaning the tile environs. It is simpler to take up the tile prior to this type of cleaning. 7 How can stains be removed? The easiest way to remove any kind of stain is to remove it immediately. When stains dry out, chemical reactions can occur between the stain and the carpet fibres that have a lasting negative influence on the look of the tiles. Removing stains from carpet tiles requires great care and a lot of patience. Attempts are often made to remove a stain using drastic measures. Sometimes they work, but unfortunately the surface suffers so badly as a result that the carpet tile loses its evenness at those spots. If you follow these recommendations, most stains can be removed from our products without using chemicals. That s why we would like to supply you with 2 fundamental points in advance: Remove stains immediately whenever possible! Never try to remove a stain by rubbing hard or brushing hard! In the event of hard-to-remove stains or soiling, it is important to know the cause of the stain in order to apply the right method for removing it. Using the wrong agent or an incorrect application can even intensify the problem and cause irreparable damage to the carpet tile. 7.1 Removing stains from the carpet surface 7.1.1 Dealing with water-based stains 7.1.1.1 Take the tile up from the floor. Whenever possible, carefully soak up the stain immediately using absorbent white (not printed) paper towels while working from the outermost edge towards the centre. Do not rub while doing this. Only use light pressure to press the towels onto the stain in order to absorb the liquid from the lower layers of the carpet tile, too. Continue until hardly any more liquid is soaked up. Towels might have to be changed frequently so that an optimum absorbency remains ensured. 7.1.1.2 In the case of highly viscous liquids, first remove as much as possible with a spoon, working from the outside to the inside. Possibly dilute the remaining stain with a little water, then proceed according to item 7.1.1.1. 7.1.1.3 For stains that tend to form a crust after drying (e.g. beverages containing sugar), first soak them up using absorbent paper towels as described in item 1.). Then use a damp cotton towel to carefully wipe off the stained surface in order to free the sticky substances from the tile. 7.1.1.4 Now lay a multi-layered packet of paper towels spread broadly on top of the stain and weigh them down, for example with a book. 7.1.1.5 Remove the paper towels after 24 hours and vacuum the carpet tile thoroughly at this spot. 7.1.1.6 In the event that the stain has not been removed completely after this treatment, treat the stain using a stain remover suitable for that kind of stain while following the manufacturer s instructions. Residual stains made by coffee, tea or red wine can only be removed completely with the help of stain removers that have a bleaching (oxidative) effect. Here too it is imperative that the manufacturer s instructions are followed. Spray dried stains with water first, then carry out the abovementioned steps 1-4. 7.1.2 Dealing with stains containing grease / oil or paints (oil pigments) These stains are to be removed by dabbing using a white cotton towel soaked in cleaner s solvent (benzine). 7.1.3 Dealing with solid stains 7.1.3.1 Chewing gum Freeze using a colourless freeze spray (products specially made for textile fibres that prevent alterations of colour are available from retailers: chewing gum removal spray ), then fragment using a hammer or something similar and vacuum immediately. Treat the spot again afterwards using a white cotton towel and cleaner s solvent (benzine). 7.1.3.2 Candle wax Free the candle wax from the carpet tile using blotting paper and an iron (at low heat). Then treat the spot again using a white cotton towel and cleaner s solvent (benzine). 7.2 Cleaning recommendation for stainlesssteel surface 7.2.1 Dealing with dry soiling Take up the tile, spray the soiled areas with tap water, then dab the areas using a cotton cloth to absorb the loosened coarse dirt. If necessary, repeat several times until no more smudging coarse dirt is loosened. Spray the soiled areas with tap water, then use a cotton cloth to gently wipe until the water has been completely absorbed (repeat this last spray and wipe step as needed) and the stain is completely removed. 7.3.3 Drying time After the tile has been cleaned and the area walked on has been allowed to dry thoroughly, the tile can be immediately put back to use. En zones humides avec flaques d eau telles surfaces extérieures et balcons. 4 Comment bien poser la dalle? 4.1 Nettoyez bien le sol avant de poser les dalles (passer l aspirateur et, le cas échéant, la serpillière). 4.2 Les dalles sont dotées d une feuille de protection sur le dos, afin de vous permettre d expérimenter des variantes de pose (cf. croquls au verso). Ne pas marcher sur la dalle avant d avoir enlevé cette feuille (risque de glissade!). 4.3 Déterminez d abord la position définitive de ces dalles, puis enlevez la feuille de protection de la première dalle en tirant sur la languette prévue à cet effet. Posez ensuite la dalle à l emplacement choisi. Après cela, prenez la deuxième dalle, enlevez-y la feuille et posez-la à fleur contre la première dalle. Posez ensuite les autres dalles exactement de la même manière. Veillez à ce que toutes les dalles soient posées à fleur. 4.4 Aussitôt après la pose, on peut marcher sur les dalles. Il suffit de quelques pas pour leur assurer une bonne adhésion au sol. 5 Comment nettoyer le dos auto-adhésif des dalles? Nettoyez bien le sol dur avant d entamer la pose. Si vous ne soulevez pas les dalles à un moment ou à un autre, leur pouvoir adhésif restera toujours intact. Si vous soulevez la dalle fréquemment, vous en touchez forcément le côté mousse avec vos doigts, poussière et graisse s y déposeront. Progressivement, ces particules de poussière et de graisse formeront une couche entre le dos mousse et le sol dur. La surface de contact se réduit et la bonne adhésion de la dalle au sol risque de diminuer. Il faut nettoyer le côté face de la mousse afin d enlever toutes les traces de graisse et de poussière. Cela se fait en deux étapes: D abord, prenez un chiffon microfibre propre et sec sur lequel vous allez pulvériser un peu de produit nettoyant verre, en vente dans le commerce; essuyez le côté mousse de la dalle en évitant de frotter trop fort, afin de ne pas endommager la mousse. La seconde étape consiste à faire sécher la dalle, le côté mousse vers le haut. Ce n est que lorsqu elle aura entièrement séché (au bout de 6 heures minimum), que la dalle aura récupéré tout son pouvoir adhésif et que vous pourrez la poser. Evitez surtout de la faire sécher en plein soleil ou sur un radiateur. N utilisez pas non plus de sèche-cheveux ou autres appareils à air chaud. Ne reposez jamais une dalle humide, le risque de glissade est grand! Pour être tout à fait sûr, posez d abord une dalle et assurezvous de sa bonne adhésion. Pour le nettoyage, il vous faut les outils suivants: un chiffon microfibre en vente dans le commerce un pulvérisateur avec du produit nettoyant verre 6 Comment nettoyer une dalle? Nettoyez en y passant régulièrement l aspirateur. Si la face cachée venait à être salie, nettoyez-la prudemment avec un chiffon humide et laissez-la bien sécher avant de la poser. Si une dalle est trempée, il faut l enlever sur-le-champ et la faire sécher avant de pouvoir la poser à nouveau. L humidité risque de détériorer le sol dur dessous. En nettoyant autour des dalles, veillez à ne pas mouiller celles-ci. Il est plus judicieux d enlever les dalles avant ce genre d opération. 7 Comment enlever des taches? Tout d abord, agissez au plus vite. Une tache sèche aura eu le temps de réagir avec les fibres du tapis et de détériorer durablement son aspect visuel. Enlever des taches sur des dalles, notamment en velours uni, demande circonspection et patience. On essaie trop souvent de faire partir les taches avec des moyens draconiens. Cela peut réussir mais la surface en sera malmenée au point d en compro- mettre l harmonie visuelle. En suivant ces recommandations, vous réussirez à enlever la plupart des taches sans recourir aux produits chimiques. Ainsi, nous aimerions vous recommander 2 règles fondamentales: Enlevez les taches sur-le-champ! N essayez jamais d enlever une tache en frottant ou brossant vigoureusement! Il est important de connaître l origine d une tache particulièrement tenace afin d utiliser la bonne méthode pour l enlever. Le mauvais produit ou une mauvaise application risquent même d aggraver le problème et de provoquer une détérioration irrémédiable de la dalle. 7.1 Enlever des taches de surface sur une moquette 7.1.1 Des taches à base d eau 7.1.1.1 Enlevez la dalle. Epongez prudemment avec des absorbants blancs non imprimés, en passant du bord vers le centre. Ne frottez surtout pas. Appuyez légèrement pour que le papier absorbe progressivement toute l humidité. Changez souvent de papier pour assurer une absorption maximale. 7.1.1.2 S il s agit d un liquide très visqueux, servezvous d une cuiller pour enlever l essentiel, en agissant du bord vers l intérieur. Au besoin, diluez la tache restante avec un peu d eau et continuez comme décrit sous 7.1.1.1. 7.1.1.3 Taches sèches formant des croûtes (p.ex. des boissons sucrées): Enlever avec un essuie-tout bien absorbant, comme décrit sous 1.). Epongez ensuite la tache avec un coton humide pour bien faire sortir les substances sirupeuses. 7.1.1.4 Couvrez maintenant a tache d une petite pile de papier absorbant et posez dessus par exemple un livre. 7.1.1.5 Au bout de 24h, enlevez les papiers et passez bien l aspirateur à cet endroit. 7.1.1.6 Si, après ce traitement, la tache n a pas disparue, utilisez un produit détachant approprié, en suivant les instructions du fabricant. Les résidus de thé, café ou vin rouge ne disparaîtront qu après usage d un détachant par oxydation. Là encore, suivez à la lettre les instructions du fabricant. Pulvérisez de l eau sur les taches sèches et suivez ensuite les points 1-4. 7.1.2 Traces de graisse / d huile ou de couleur (pigments d huile) Epongez par petites touches avec un chiffon imbibé d un solvant comme la benzine. 7.1.3 Taches dures 7.1.3.1 Chewing-gum Traitez avec un spray de refroidissement incolore (il existe dans le commerce des produits adaptés aux fibres textiles qui évitent la décoloration: spray antichewing-gum ), faites éclater avec un petit marteau et passez immédiatement l aspirateur. Traitez ensuite l endroit à la benzine. 7.1.3.2 La cire Etalez du papier buvard, puis résorbez avec un fer à repasser, à petite chaleur. Traitez ensuite avec un chiffon imbibé de benzine. 7.2 Recommandation de nettoyage pour surfaces en acier inox 7.2.1 Traiter des salissures sèches Enlever la dalle, pulvériser de l eau de robinet sur les taches, tamponner à l aide d un chiffon en coton pour détacher les salissures ramollies, répéter plusieurs fois pour faire disparaître toute trace des salissures. Pulvériser alors de l eau fraîche et éponger à l aide d un chiffon propre (répéter le geste s il le faut) pour résorber toute l eau. 7.2.2 Traiter des salissures humides (café, thé, vin rouge) Eponger délicatement les taches sans frotter afin de ne pas étendre les salissures. Enlever la dalle, pulvériser de l eau fraîche sur les endroits en question, éponger avec un chiffon en coton en frottant légèrement (plusieurs fois s il le faut) pour résorber toute l eau et faire disparaître totalement la tache. 7.2.3 Temps de séchage: Après le nettoyage et un bon séchage des endroits concernés, la dalle peut être remise en place. Si vous avez pris trop d eau et que le dos est trempé, attendez que le dos soit bien sec avant de reposer la dalle. Une dalle au dos trempé n adhère pas, vous risquez de glisser. 7.3 Recommandation de nettoyage pour surfaces en cuir 7.3.1 Traiter des salissures sèches Enlever la dalle, pulvériser de l eau de robinet sur les taches, tamponner à l aide d un chiffon en coton pour détacher les salissures ramollies, répéter plusieurs fois pour faire disparaître toute trace des

Ne pas utiliser d appareils à vapeur. L éther de pétrole est à bannir! Si les taches sont trop apparentes côté dos, mieuxvaut remplacer la dalle pour éviter qu elles n imprègnent le sol dur. 8 De quoi faut-il protéger les dalles? De toute substance et action agressives.
