Kokemukset Hyvät kokemukset aiemmista ja nykyisestä tutkimusohjelmasta Loppukäyttäjät aktiivisemmiksi vuosittaisen suunnittelun kommentoinnissa, jopa ideoinnissa Tutkimusohjelma tärkeä LUT:lle
Mitä on LUT Opetusta ja tutkimusta Noin 20 henkeä, professori+tutkimus-/opetushenkilökunta Henkilötyövuosijakauma: 1/4 opetukseen liittyviä tehtäviä, josta ulkopuolisille 1/5 1/4 SAFIR 2010 1/4 Suomen Akatemia ja EU 1/4Tekes/teollisuushankkeet
INFRASTRUKTUURI Koelaitteistokanta PACTEL / VVER nykykuntoon PWR PACTEL PPOOLEX LABRIG (suunnitelma lepäämässä) Erilliskoelaitteistot FIN6-7-tarpeisiin?

Generation IV reactor concepts
NETNUC - LUT Research at LUT concentrates on the modelling of pebble-bed hightemperature reactors. Thermal-hydraulics of the reactor core were investigated with CFD and reported in a Master s Thesis. Packing and flow of spherical fuel elements are studied using Discrete element methods. Core physics analyses with Monte Carlo code Serpent of VTT. Coupling of the above mentioned methods. Thermal-hydraulic experiments at LUT, such as condensation pool experiments, and related numerical activities also contribute to the SCWR research.
NETNUC - Aalto Serpent reactor physics burnup calculation code of VTT is used and further developed at Aalto. - Modelling of the microstructure of the fuel. - THERMOSSS code for calculating temperature distribution in a fuel pellet. SCWR modeling with APROS. Economic investigations, thorium fuel cycle Studies on SFR and LFR. New transmutation methods. GEN4 education
NETNUC - VTT Developing burnup calculation methods in Serpent (CRAM). ERANOS code is learned and used for Gen IV reactor analyses. APROS and TRAB-3D/SMABRE modelling (HPLWR). Studies on utilizing the heat from a Gen IV reactor to be used in a biorefinery. Materials: Conductivity of oxide films under SCW conditions. Modelling of oxide structure and composition. Creep and fatique experiments. x, bm < 10 % x, H 2SO 4 < 10 % T = 220 C p = 25 bar t = 10 s T = 190 C p = 14 bar t = 20 min HP steam
