Capabilities of new technologies We always tend to over-estimate the capabilities of new technologies in the short term, Industry revolution with enormous change in expectations and scale but under estimate them in the long term There is no reason for any individual to have a computer in his home." We are rapidly moving into a world where vehicle, phone and home/office will be interconnected and allow a seamless experience to the driver B. Vehicle and driver will also be connected to the road infrastructure and they will get real-time for traffic and service information (traffic alerts, expected rush times, weather, free parking lots, real time public transportation information, local services etc) C. European directive (24.01.2013) will require 8 000 000 electric car charging stations in Europe before 2020. Finland has to invest 71 000 stations (7 000 public stations)
The Business Case Drivers spend only in the USA over 4.6 Billion hours each year stuck in traffic. People in western countries spend about two years in traffic during their lifetime California has spent 2.5 Billion USD for traffic sensor installations. Traffic management systems cost over 20% from the whole road budget in EU. Number of cars in Beijing will reach 7 million milestone in 2015. Theoretical capacity of road infrastructure is 6.5 million. Beijing will invest 700 m for smart traffic solutions in next 5 Year Plan Environmental requirements and wellbeing will set new requirements to traffic new business opportunities for smart traffic services.

Asemanseudut Liikenteen ja palveluiden (r)evoluutiota palvelemaan massoja Jukka Lintusaari University of Tampere TAUCHI Research Center Smart Traffic Business Development
Muuttumaton peruskonsepti Isot asemat ovat yli sata vuotta vanhoja kaupan ja liikenteen solmukohtia, joissa infrastruktuuri ja kulkuvälineet on uusittu moneen kertaan. Uusiutuminen tapahtuu funktio kerrallaan ja aseman peruskonsepti on säilynyt ennallaan. Smart Traffic Business Development
Smart Traffic Business Development
