Osaamistavoite opinnoille Kone- ja rakennustekniikan kandipääaineessa opiskelija perehtyy laaja-alaisesti koneiden ja rakennusten teknisten järjestelmien suunnittelun perusteisiin Tavoitteena on antaa: Opiskelija tuntee perusteet valmiudet soveltaa teoreettista tietämystä ja suunnittelumenetelmiä luoda perusta näiden jatkokehittämiselle statiikasta ja dynamiikasta kiinteän aineen mekaniikasta virtausmekaniikasta termodynamiikasta, materiaalitekniikasta tuotesuunnittelusta tuotantotekniikasta Perusteiden lisäksi opiskelijalle annetaan: valmiudet nähdä näiden alojen väliset yhteydet valmiudet soveltaa näiden alojen analysointimenetelmiä suunnittelutehtäviin eri aloja integroivalla tavalla valmiudet käyttää suunnittelun tietoteknisiä apuvälineitä suunnittelutiedon hallinnassa, mallinnuksessa ja visualisoinnissa Opiskelija osaa etsiä, hyödyntää, analysoida ja raportoida teknistä ja tieteellistä tietoa sekä soveltaa tätä suunnittelussa eli toimia osana suunnittelu- tai tutkimustiimiä Kanditutkinto antaa vahvan pohjan maisteritason opinnoille, joissa varsinaiset diplomi-insinöörin työelämävalmiudet annetaan
