UPM SILMU-Pergola IDEA BOOK
Versatile and enjoyable INSPIRATION FOR CREATING YOUR PERFECT OUTDOOR SPACE The UPM SILMU Pergola product family, named after the Finnish word for bud, brings summer to your garden in an enjoyable and easy way. The different products in the set have been designed to match each other perfectly in terms of measurements and appearance. The wave pattern on the surfaces of the products unites the decking board, fence lath, beam and poles in the same product family. The components of the product family are so versatile, they can be used in all garden constructions. This idea book includes the plans for ten different SILMU Pergola options of different sizes. You can also use the products in the set to design your own pergola. Installing a canopy over the structure extends the life of the SILMU Pergola. The end result will be striking and modern. The basis of the whole structure is a 1130 x 1130 mm module grid. You can expand any of the pre-designed SILMU Pergolas or plan a completely new set of your own based on the attached measurements. Always contact your local building authority before you start building to obtain any permits that may be required for the structure you have planned. UPM reserves the right to make changes.

PERGOLA MATERIAL Pine, planed Impregnated Class AB: fence lath and decking board Class A: beam and post Colour: brown Class AB treated wood is recommended for use in structures that are not in direct contact with the ground. Class A treated wood is recommended for use in structures where the wood is in constant contact with the ground or water. All products comply with the NTR quality criteria. All unwanted wood off cuts must be taken to an impregnated wood recycling unit. NOTES FOR PLANNING For planning purposes, please bear in mind that the maximum span of the SILMU roof truss beam without support is 60 mm. The maximum span for the deck structure supporting beam is 3390 mm and the recommended maximum spacing is 600 mm. The Pergola components are quality class B. The load-bearing capacity of the wooden canopy frame structure is kn/m when the roof truss beam span is 60 mm, and the beam spacing is a maximum of 1130 mm. If you are planning to build a canopy for your Pergola, consult a building professional for plans and cost estimates prior to starting work. The Pergola materials including the fence laths and beams are delivered uncut, however, you can build all the Pergola structures with minimal cutting, depending on your chosen method of construction. The Pergola canopy truss can be implemented in two different ways, as illustrated in the installation instructions. If you select option (long laths above the beams), you will need two decking boards, in addition to the components listed to be used as the "eaves" on the long sides of the Pergola truss structure. 3
