Welcome to Taitaja2016 in Seinäjoki Seinäjoki s super summer starts with vocational education s biggest event, Taitaja. All of the Taitaja2016 team have done their best to provide the competitors in the Finnish final with the optimal conditions for equal competition. Great consideration and energy have also been invested in the periphery programme and event ambience, so that visitors feel comfortable and encounter memorable experiences at the Seinäjoki Taitaja event. Numerous partners, hundreds of students and staff, through co-operation with Taitaja2016 operatives, wish all of you eventgoers, a heartfelt welcome to Taitaja2016. On competition days, competitors, judges and category (deputy) co-ordinators for categories being undertaken at Jäähalli (Ice Hall), Atria Hall and Alaseinäjoenkatu, can have lunch at Sedun Taitaja restaurant, Kirkkokatu 10. Timetable according to category between 11:00 15:00. Transport from Wallsport bubble hall, Alaseinäjoenkatu 9. Lunch is available at Areena VSS for competitors, judges and category (deputy) co-ordinators for categories being undertaken at Areena and its surrounding area, according to category timetables between 10:30 15:00. MONDAY 9.5. Programme 17.30 18.30 Taitaja2016 opening procession The opening procession assembles at Seinäjoki market place at 17.30. The Taitaja2016 procession proceeds from the market place to the Taitaja2016 opening ceremony at Uimahalli-urheilutalo (Swimming Hall Sports Centre) between 17.30-18.30 along this route Koulukatu Kansalaistori Alvar Aallonkatu Kirkkokatu. Accompanied by Seinäjoki, South Ostrobothnian, national and international music and wizardry. We hope that all competitors, guardians, judges, education representatives all join the procession. Co-operation companies, organisations and those involved in the vocational market etc., can also participate in the procession. The procession is organised at Seinäjoki market place in the following order: 1. At the head of the procession will be Skills Finland ry, Sedu directors and Taitaja2016 organisation director. 2. Teams are organised according to educational institution name, according to alphabetical order. Teams are requested to bring their team flag to the parade and to wear their team competition clothes. 3. International competitors and their assistance team. 4. Judges and competition category team. 5. Companies, associations and others involved with Taitaja2016 can also join the procession. 6. The rear of the procession is brought up by other organisation representatives. INFORMATION FOR COMPETITORS REGARDING THE OPENING CEROMONY Competing teams are introduced at the Taitaja 2016 opening ceremony. We therefore request that you do a little bit of preparation: Select your team representative (preferably a competitor), who will come on stage during the introduction of the teams. It is the task of the team representative to tell the audience the name of the educational institution they represent and its province / country. At the same time their own team stand up in the audience and shout or cheer for their team. The team representatives come to the stage in a queue and they have a few seconds time to shout their team name to the audience. Please ensure that the whole team is awake and receives this information, so that they can stand up when their own team representative comes to the stage. 8

19.00 20.30 Taitaja2016 opening ceremony Taitaja2016 opening ceremony is held at Uimahall-urheilutalo (Swimming Hall Sports Centre), Kirkkokatu 15, at 19.00 (18.30 organising). Competing teams are introduced at the opening ceremony. Teams are requested to bring along the flag of their own educational institution. Competitors and team directors are present at the team introduction in the opening ceremony. TUESDAY 10.5. Transportation CHECK THE TRANSPORTAION TIMETABLE on the Taitaja internet pages: www.taitaja2016.fi The Taitaja train operates in the Taitaja2016 event area from Atria Hall to Frami. The train can be boarded at stops by competition and seminar buildings. The train is free of charge. Parking Parking at Seinäjoki Areena is chargeable for everyone and is also open to the public. Access only via Tiedekatu. 270 parking spaces have been reserved for those involved with Taitaja at > Marttilantie > Alasenkatu and 100 places behind the Winter Sports Centre (Jääurheilukeskus, Atria-hallin). There is traffic guidance and advice in the parking areas. The multi-storey carpark at Frami is also available at standard charges. Publication of Results The Finnish National Championship results are published on the last competition day, 12.5.2016 at 14.15. The results will be displayed on the official Areena noticeboard. Guidelines for Handling Waste The Taitaja2016 organisation supplies waste recycling bins at each category area. Every category takes care of the daily emptying of the recycling bins at the recycling point, which is located outside of the hall. The category is independently responsible for keeping the category area clean and cleanliness patrols for public areas. ACTIONS IN EVENT OF FIRE Instructions: SAVE people INFORM of the danger EXTINGUISH with the nearest fire extinguisher RAISE THE ALARM by calling the emergency services at 112 LIMIT the fire by closing doors GUIDE the fire brigade to the location Familiarise yourself with your own work station s small fire extinguishing equipment and make sure that you know how to use them. When required, help on their use can be obtained from stewards. RESUCITATION GUIDELINES 1. Can you wake the person? Wake the person by talking to them or shaking them. The person does not wake. 2. Call the emergency number, 112. You can also shout for help. After this, turn the person you are helping on their back and check if they are breathing normally. 3. Open the airway. Breathing is not normal or the person is not breathing. 4. Start cardiac massage by pressing on the breastbone 30 times. 5. Blow into their mouth 2 times. 6. Safety and Evacuation Every person is important with regards to security matters. Every day before the event starts, predict possible dangers by checking and evaluating the competition area. If you notice possible dangerous situations or a lack of safety, which cannot be rectified by your own actions, then immediately inform the head of security, tel. 040 868 0789. Get to know the competition area s emergency exists in advance. General Evacuation 1. The evacuation order is sounded and the security personnel start the evacuation. 2. Listen to the directions of the security personnel and stay calm. 3. Evacuate your competition area by the nearest emergency exit. 4. Assemble the people of the competition area outside of the building and wait for security personnel directions. All doors are marked appropriately and when outside people will be directed onwards. External doors must be kept clear. For example, do not park near doors. You could affect operations in dangerous situations.
