Classical Technique Perinteinen hiihtotapa Skiing rules
ICR 310.2.2.3 Turning techniques comprise of steps with the inner and pushes with the outer ski in order to change skiing direction. The sections of the course where turning techniques are allowed must be clearly marked. Käännökset koostuvat sisäsuksen askelista ja ulkosuksen työnnöistä suunnan muuttamiseksi. Radan osat, missä käännöstekniikka on sallittu, tulee selvästi merkitä.
ICR 310.2.2.4 Where there are one or more set tracks, repeatedly changing or stepping in and out of tracks is not allowed. Toistuvat vaihdokset ladulta pois ja takaisin eivät ole sallittuja
ICR 310.2.2.5 Single or double-skating is not allowed. Yksi- tai kaksipuolinen luistelu on kielletty.
Pole lenght ICR 343.8.1 In classical technique competitions, the maximum pole length must not exceed 83% of the competitor s body height. In free technique competitions, the maximum pole length must not exceed 100% of the competitor s height. The body height is measured with ski boots on from a flat surface, to the top of the uncovered head. The pole length is measured from the bottom of the pole to the highest attachment of the strap. All measurements will be rounded to the nearest centimeter as follows: less than 0.5 cm will be rounded down and 0.5 cm and above will be rounded up.
Overtaking 343.10.1 During an interval start competition a competitor who is being overtaken must give way on the first demand. This applies in classical technique courses even when there are two tracks and in free technique courses when the skier being overtaken may have to restrict his/her skating action. Väliaikalähtöisessä kilpailussa ohitettavan kilpailijan on annettava latua ensimmäisestä kehotuksesta. Tätä sääntöä tulee noudattaa myös sellaisissa perinteisen hiihtotavan kilpailuissa, joissa radalle on asetettu kaksi latua sekä vapaan hiihtotavan kilpailuissa, vaikka ohitettava kilpailija joutuisi rajoittamaan omia liikkeitään.
Some ICR rules Individual Sprint Competition
ICR 325.4.2.9 Any competitor who causes a false start will be sanctioned by a written reprimand. Following the first false start in a heat, any competitor who causes a subsequent false start in the same heat will be required to withdraw from the competition. The competitor will be ranked as the last position of the applicable final, semi-finals or quarter finals heat (rank 6, 12, 30 or 4, 8, 16). Virhelähdön tehneelle kilpailijalle annetaan kirjallinen varoitus. Ensimmäisen virhelähdön jälkeen kuka tahansa samassa erässä uuden virhelähdön aiheuttava kilpailija on velvollinen lopettamaan kilpailunsa. Virhelähdön tehnyt kilpailija sijoittuu oman erävaiheensa (finaali, välierä tai alkuerä) viimeiseksi (sijoitus on 6, 12, 30 tai 4, 8, 16).
Obstruction ICR 343.9 In all competitions obstruction is not allowed. This behavior is defined as deliberately impeding, blocking, charging or pushing any competitor with any part of the body or ski equipment. Estäminen on kielletty kaikissa kilpailuissa. Tällaiseksi käytökseksi on määritelty tahallinen estäminen, estäminen, häirintä sekä toisen urheilijan työntäminen jollakin kehon osalla tai hiihtovälineellä.
