Carlson has played seven seasons in Washington, recording 228 points, including 53 goals, in 454 games while Niskanen has yet to miss a game in his two seasons with the Capitals, producing nine goals and 54 assists for 63 points in 164 games. Oshie skated in 80 games in , his first with the Capitals, scoring 26 goals and adding 25 assists for 51 points. The Capitals are represented at the World Cup of Hockey by nine players and head coach Barry Trotz who is an assistant coach with Team Canada.
