VIBRATION LEVEL: Vibration At Arms m/s 2 Vibration At Body m/s 2 SYSTEM COMPONENTS WATER TANK Tank Construction: The 160 gallon (606L) capacity tank is constructed of heavy duty chemical resistant molded fiberglass. The tank is equipped with a deep suction sump with anti vortex plate. Tank Lid: The lid is a 16 (41 cm) diameter, hinged leak proof cam lock lid, to prevent leakage. Strainer Basket: The strainer basket is a high impact nylon strainer with a 40 mesh stainless steel screen. The strainer should be kept in place at all times to prevent leaves or other similar type debris from entering the tank. Mounting: The tank mounts directly to the Turf Truckster frame and is secured via the rear pin disconnect brackets and two (2) front hold down clips. NOTICE Operating the unit with a discharged accumulator will cause immediate damage to the rubber bladder in the accumulator. A very rapid pulse rate indicates the accumulator is discharged. FIGURE 1 1 Agitation: The tank has PTO driven triple paddle agitation plus top bypass recirculation. ACCUMULATOR The Envirojet is equipped with a nitrogen charged hydraulic accumulator (refer to Figure 1). This device is mounted on the control block assembly. The accumulator shipped with the Envirojet is NOT charged at the factory. The accumulator must be filled with nitrogen before its first use, every two months, after 100 hours of use and after extended storage. NOTICE A charge kit (nitrogen fill kit, Part No ) is available or the accumulator may be taken to a bottled gas dealer for filling.! WARNING When charged, the accumulator maintains a high pressure even when the Envirojet is shut off or the unit is removed. DO NOT attempt to disassemble the accumulator when charged, or you and/or bystanders may be seriously injured. The accumulator can be safely removed from the control block while charged. Refer to Parts/Service manual. 1. Accumulator A 30 cubic inch accumulator is standard. This accumulator provides approximately 6 pulses per second. If a faster pulse rate is desired, the 30 cubic inch accumulator should be replaced with a 20 cubic inch accumulator accessory (Part No ). This will increase the pulse rate by a factor of 1 1/4 times to 7 1/2 pulses per second. There is also a 1 quart (67 cubic inch) accumulator available (Accessory Part No ) for deeper penetration depths. The 1 quart accumulator provides approximately 3 pulses per second. SEQUENCER The sequencer is the large brass valve located on the end of the control block (see Figure 2). The sequencer is adjusted by using the hex adjustment screw and locknut. Turning the adjustment screw clockwise increases the injection pressure. Turning the adjustment screw counterclockwise decreases the injection pressure. Initially set the hex adjustment screw by tightening finger tight and then tighten an additional 2/3 revolution. Check the operating pulse pressure and tighten as required (approximately 1/6 revolution) to obtain the correct operating pressure (3500 PSI maximum at gauge). When operating correctly the sequencer emits a sharp rapping sound. Tighten the lock nut. 3

TANK FILL INLET AND WATER FILTER The tank fill inlet and water filter housing are located on the upper right rear portion of the water tank (refer to Figure 3). The water filter MUST be changed regularly. The life of the filter depends greatly on the condition of the water being used. The filter should be changed between 25 and 50 hours of operation. A shutoff valve and check valve are provided to prevent backwashes of chemicals into the filter. 3 2 FIGURE 2 1. Sequencer 2. Control Block 3. Relief Valve 4. Locknut 5. Hex Screw SAFETY RELIEF VALVE The safety relief valve (refer to Figure 2) is mounted on the control block with the sequencer and accumulator. The relief valve is factory set for system and operator protection and MUST NOT be readjusted in the field. See your authorized Ransomes dealer if service is required. The system is designed to operate at a maximum pressure of 3500 PSI. The relief valve is set at a higher pressure to allow for dynamic pressure peaks. If the sequencer is incorrectly adjusted the relief valve will expel pressure. This will protect the system and pump from over pressurization. If this should occur, adjust the sequencer to 3500 PSI maximum system operating pressure. MANIFOLD CHECK VALVES The manifold check valves are positioned between the injection manifold and the spray nozzles. The check valves are manufactured with a replaceable o ring, poppet cone and spring. If the spring should fail, you will either experience a steady stream of water or there will be no flow at all. If a spring breaks, a piece of the broken spring or O ring may become lodged in the nozzle tip preventing water from flowing from the tip. MANIFOLD BRUSHES The manifold front and side brushes are located on the lower edges of the injection manifold cover. The brushes are used to prevent splashing of chemicals and debris that may become airborne. FIGURE 3 1. Water Filter 2. Tank Fill Inlet TANK SHUTOFF, PRE SCREEN & DRAIN The tank shutoff and pre screen are located at the lower right rear corner of the tank (refer to Figure 4). The screen should be cleaned weekly under normal operating conditions. When applying wettable powders, the screen should be checked daily. When applying polymers the screen should be removed before attempting to inject polymers. Be sure to replace the screen when finished. A drain valve is located between the pre screen and the pump. HOSES The double braided high pressure hoses are specifically designed for proper system operation. The hoses are encased with a protective nylon cover. If any of the hoses or covers show signs of wear, they should be replaced immediately with original equipment parts.! WARNING NEVER check for water leaks with your hands. High pressure water leaks can and will cause severe injuries to hands or other body parts. HIGH PRESSURE WATER PUMP The high pressure water pump is located on the lower right side of the rear of the vehicle (refer to Figure 4). The pump is driven by a belt and pulley system powered by a 25 h.p. auxiliary air cooled engine. 1 4

Prior to each operation, inspect the oil sight glass and dipstick for proper oil level and quality. Never operate pump with low or poor quality oil. If the oil appears milky or foamy it is contaminated with water and needs to be serviced. Overhaul the pump and replace the faulty seals. Refill oil as needed with non detergent 30W oil. Check oil level using dipstick fitted in fill cap. 1 Change the oil after the initial 50 hours of operation (break in period) and then every 100 hours or every three months thereafter. Use only SAE 30W non detergent oil. Note the tone and sound level of the pump when new. Any significant tone or sound level change indicates a problem with the pump which needs immediate attention. The pump may leak a small amount of water when new, after extended storage periods or after seal replacement. This is a normal condition and the leak will cease when the seals are primed (normally within 20 minutes). If the pump should continue to leak or develops a leak during normal operation, the pump must be overhauled and the seals replaced immediately. Continuing to run a leaking pump can and will cause severe damage to the pump. 2 FIGURE 4 1. High Pressure Water Pump 2. Pre Screen AUXILIARY ENGINE The auxiliary engine is located in the center of the rear portion of the unit (refer to Figure 5). The engine is a 25 h.p. air cooled Kohler Command engine. The engine serial number nameplate is located in front of the right valve cover. Refer to engine manual for service. A spark arrestor (Part No ) is available for the muffler. 1 FIGURE 5 1. Auxiliary Engine INJECTION MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY The injection manifold should be adjusted to provide 3/8 (9.7 mm) clearance between nozzles and the ground. Loosen and adjust two (2) bolts on each end bracket. POWER BRUSH The power brush has five (5) rotating brushes and a single fixed brush on both the leading and trailing edges. The rotating brushes are driven by a hydraulic motor mounted on top of the brush cover. The hydraulic power is supplied by the Turf Truckster live hydraulics. The correct rotation of the brushes is indicated by an arrow on the chain cover above the left brush (the left brush turns counterclockwise). The power brush mounting brackets have slots to provide for some float. The front of the rotating brush should be approximately 1/8 (3 mm) higher than the rear. The front mounts are positioned 1/8 (3 mm) higher than the rear mounts so the proper slope is achieved when all the notches are set the same. COVERS All components using belts, pulleys or chains are protected with covers. This is a safety feature that prevents hands, loose clothing or similar objects from becoming entangled in chains, pulleys or belts.! WARNING NEVER operate this equipment with any of the machine covers removed. Leaving a cover off creates a very dangerous situation which can result in very serious injuries and/or death. DECK LOCK The Envirojet is equipped with a locking mechanism to hold the deck in the UP or raised position. It is very important to lock the deck when transporting. The deck lock MUST also be used when servicing nozzles. 5

HYDRAULIC LIFT SYSTEM The Envirojet utilizes the Turf Truckster hydraulic system to power the 2 way cylinder (located under the engine frame) that lifts the deck. The cylinder rotates the lift arm assembly which in turn raises the tow arms and deck. Since the lift arm assembly is not connected to the tow arms, the deck is free to float in the lowered position. The independent lift arm assembly design also prevents the operator from damaging the lock assembly if the cylinder is inadvertently lowered while the deck is locked up.! WARNING BE SURE the cylinder is in the raised position before releasing the deck lock. Forcing the lock open with the cylinder lowered will cause the deck to drop suddenly and could cause serious injuries. 5 CONTROL PANEL 1 FIGURE 6 1. Injection Pressure Gauge 2. Choke Control 3. Ignition Switch 4. Hour Meter 5. Throttle Control 6. Bypass Valve INJECTION PRESSURE GAUGE The injection pressure gauge measures the high pressure injection system pressure. The gauge has a range from PSI and has a green band designating the operating range. DO NOT operate the unit in the red range, doing so can and will damage the pump. The gauge needle will oscillate significantly due to the pulsations of the unit. The system operating pressure is the maximum pressure reached during oscillation. It may be helpful to cover the low range of the needle oscillation with your hand to focus on the peak reading CHOKE CONTROL The choke control is used when cold starting the auxiliary engine. Pull out on the choke control to activate the choke. Start engine and depress choke control as engine warms up. IGNITION SWITCH The ignition switch is used to start or stop the auxiliary engine. Rotate the switch clockwise until engine starts, then release key. Rotate the switch counterclockwise to the OFF position to stop the engine. DO NOT run the auxiliary engine without water in the tank. HOUR METER The hour meter records the number of hours the Envirojet has been operated. The hour meter runs only when the key switch is in the ON position. The hour meter must be used in maintaining a comprehensive maintenance program. THROTTLE CONTROL The throttle control is used to increase or decrease the engine speed of the auxiliary engine. Moving the throttle control forward will increase the engine speed. With the throttle positioned rearward as far as possible, the auxiliary engine will be at idle. BYPASS VALVE Rotating the bypass valve clockwise will place the unit into the Injection Mode and pulsing will start. Rotating the bypass valve counterclockwise (recirculation mode) will cause the pulsing to cease during operation of the Envirojet. The pump will continue to recirculate liquid back to the tank. CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY The Envirojet high pressure system is designed with chemical compatibility in mind. All components are stainless steel, brass, or anodized aluminum. Hoses are synthetic rubber and most seals are viton. The low pressure side of the system utilizes a fiberglass tank, brass and polypropylene fittings and nylon return hoses. Many chemicals are compatible with these components check with your chemical supplier regarding chemical compatibility for the specific chemical you are planning to apply. Chemicals can cause significant wear to components resulting in increased maintenance costs and shortened life of the product. Various liquid fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides, fungicides, root stimulators and non co polymerized wetting agents, have been used successfully in the Envirojet moderate concentrations pose less potential for wear. Applying highly concentrated chemicals and/or abrasive solutions through the system is not recommended. 6

High pressure injection systems have wear components proper maintenance will minimize the cost of operation. Completely flushing the system after chemical application is especially important in keeping the system operating properly. Starving a piston pump will cause extensive damage make sure the product being applied does not foam, coagulate or otherwise clog the pump pre screen. The use of wettable powders poses the risk of particles staying in suspension this will cause additional wear to the piston pump and other components. The wear will be relative to the amount of particulate passing thru the system (i.e. daily use would reduce pump life dramatically whereas a one time application causes minor wear). If you do use wettable powders, always premix the filtered water in a clean container before transferring to the tank thru the strainer basket. Keep the agitator running continuously to avoid separation. Check and clean the pre screen often. High grade water absorbing polymers without fines can be applied with the system at modest concentrations that allow them to be pumped (up to 2 lbs. dry polymer per 160 gallon tank if too concentrated it will turn the liquid into a non pumpable jelly). The pump pre screen must be removed to avoid clogging and subsequent pump starvation. Start the agitator before adding the polymer which absorbs water and thickens the viscosity. The polymer MUST be fully saturated prior to pumping (run the agitator continuously approximately 20 minutes or agitate in a separate tank and transfer to the Envirojet). IMPORTANT DO NOT START THE AUXILIARY ENGINE BEFORE THE POLYMER IS FULLY SATURATED OR THE PUMP WILL BE DAMAGED. DO NOT STOP INJECTING FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OR THE POLYMERIZED GLOBULES WILL SETTLE AND CAUSE CLOGGING OF THE SYSTEM. Thoroughly flush the system immediately after use and replace the pump pre screen. DO NOT USE products with granular abrasives, liquids with heavy organic soils, gypsum powder or products that become foamy, tacky or stringy in the Envirojet and cause pump damage. DO NOT USE products with very high concentrations of nitrogen or potassium as they can attack the aluminum components. DO NOT USE products that can foam when agitated foam will cause pump cavitation resulting in severe pump damage. CHEMICAL APPLICATIONS IMPORTANT DETERMINING HOW MUCH CHEMICAL YOU WILL APPLY IS VERY IMPORTANT. CONTACTING YOUR CHEMICAL COMPANY OR A CHEMICAL ADVISOR TO HELP DETERMINE THE PROPER APPLICATION RATES IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS FOR APPLICATION RATES MAKE IT EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU APPLY CHEMICALS CORRECTLY. APPLYING TOO MUCH OR TOO LITTLE CAN AND WILL DAMAGE TURF OR HARM THE ENVIRONMENT. APPLY ALL CHEMICALS RESPONSIBLY TO PROTECT YOURSELF, OTHERS AND THE ENVIRONMENT. ALWAYS OBTAIN AND FOLLOW THE LATEST REGULATIONS.! WARNING Exposure to chemicals can cause short and/or long term health hazards if chemicals are not handled properly. These health hazards are brought about by overexposure to vapors, chemical contact with eyes or exposure to skin. Warning Labels All chemicals should come with basic warning labels. These labels should list the chemical name, hazardous ingredients, and the name and address of the manufacturer. The warning label should alert you to possible hazards such as: Danger Chances are you would probably die. Warning You may become extremely sick. Caution Minor illness may occur. Chemical Labeling Chemical labels should explain what first aid should be administered if for instance you splash chemicals in your eyes or on your skin. You may also be instructed to flush your eyes for approximately 15 minutes or thoroughly wash any contaminated skin. Chemical Spills Chemical spills should be cleaned up immediately. You should wear gloves, safety goggles and even a respirator in some cases when cleaning up chemical spills. Chemical Handling When handling chemicals, wearing gloves, safety goggles or a respirator are precautions that should always be taken. Chemical Storage When storing chemicals, some may need to be stored with extra ventilation or away from other chemicals. Container Disposal Empty containers should be treated like full containers. DO NOT fill them with anything else. Empty containers can be hazardous since they often hold residues that can burn, explode or leach. Follow the label instructions and always properly dispose of all empty containers. 7

Non labeled Containers If a container does not have a label, do not handle the chemical until you know what it is and can take necessary precautions in handling it. Transferring Containers If you move a hazardous chemical from its primary container to a new one, use the chemical right away or you will need to label the transfer container. Damaged Labels If any chemical label is torn damaged or missing it should be replaced immediately. NOTICE If a chemical label is not replaced you will not know what you are working with. The only way you can handle a chemical safely is to know what the chemical is that you are working with. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Hazardous chemicals should come with an MSDS which tells you how to handle and store the chemical safely. Each MSDS may look different, but they should all contain the same basic information. The following sections show what information you can expect to find when reading a MSDS. Section 1: Material/Chemical Identification The first section of the MSDS helps you identify the chemical you are going to use. It lists the name of the chemical and the chemical manufacturers name and address. This section should also list an emergency phone number. WARNING DO NOT allow hands or feet to come in contact with high pressure jets. High pressure jets can and will cause very serious injuries to hands and feet. DO NOT allow inexperienced or untrained operators to operate this equipment. If not operated properly, this equipment can be dangerous to the operator, bystanders or property. Safety glasses MUST be worn at all times when working on or around the Envirojet High Pressure Injection System. BE SURE to follow all handling instructions for all products to be injected and placed into the tank. NEVER pump fuel into the Turf Truckster or the Envirojet auxiliary engine fuel tank while either engine is running. NEVER attempt to operate Envirojet without water in the tank. Immediate pump damage can and will result. NEVER operate the unit in temperatures below 32 F (1 C). BE SURE to winterize unit before temperatures fall below freezing. The Envirojet is designed to apply water based solutions into the soil. The operator is to be seated in the Turf Truckster drivers seat and have the deck lowered before operating the unit. The operator must make sure all covers are in place and bystanders are at a safe distance before operating the unit. The Envirojet 160 is designed for reliable operation and easy to service components. In normal operation, the 160 gallon tank takes about 20 minutes to fill and 20 minutes to inject. If you have an unusual application with a water source that allow you to run continuously, you can expect wear and maintenance costs to increase accordingly. START UP PROCEDURES 1. Check all fuel, oil and other fluid levels. Check oil level in the high pressure pump by looking at the rear sight gauge. If the oil level is correct the oil should be centered in the sight gauge. If the oil appears milky or foamy it is contaminated with water and needs to be serviced. Overhaul the pump and replace the faulty seals. Refill oil as needed with non detergent 30W oil. Check oil level using dipstick fitted in fill cap. 2. BE SURE all three (3) lubrication fittings on pivot shaft (lift) and (2) lubrication fittings on idler arms have been lubricated with a good lithium based lubricant before starting. 3. Place the Turf Truckster parking brake in the engaged position. 4. Using the Turf Truckster hydraulic control, raise the deck assembly and lock in the UP position. 5. Turn the Turf Truckster engine off and inspect the injection manifold to insure all nozzles and backpressure valves are secure. Inspect the nozzles for clear opening at the orifice (hole) remove and clean any nozzle that may appear clogged. 6. Inspect high pressure hoses and hydraulic hoses for any damage. Replace any hose that show any signs of wear. 7. Check for any signs of hydraulic oil leaks. Repair as necessary. 9

8. Start the Turf Truckster, release the parking brake and drive to a water source. 9. Turn Turf Truckster motor off and engage parking brake. 10. Be sure to check pre screen at recommended intervals. 11. BE SURE the tank inlet water filter element has been installed and the filter is clean. If the filter element is dirty, change filter before filling unit with water. NOTICE Clean filtered water MUST be used to insure good performance from the system. This will also help extend the life of all related components. 12. Connect the water fill hose to the filter housing and fill the tank with approximately 160 gallons (606 liters) of water. If the water supply is over 100 PSI, a water regulator must be used when filling the tank through the inlet fill filter. 13. While filling tank, check for any water leaks. If any leaks are detected, turn the water supply off and repair the leak before proceeding. 14. BE SURE the sequencer adjustment screw is backed off so the system will operate in the steady stream state during the start up cycle. Loosen the lock nut and turn the screw counterclockwise 2 revolutions. NOTICE The Envirojet system has been winterized at the factory with environmentally friendly antifreeze, however DO NOT inject it into sports turf, waterways, etc. Properly dispose of all used antifreeze. 15. With the tank full of water, test the operation of the Envirojet Injection System. NOTICE BE SURE the bypass valve is rotated to the Recirculation Mode position and the tank shutoff valve is open before starting auxiliary engine.! CAUTION Before proceeding, BE SURE the injection manifold is clear of hands, feet and/or materials that could be propelled or damaged by the force of the jets. ALWAYS wear eye protection when operating or working around the Envirojet. 16. Verify the following conditions before starting the Envirojet Injection System: A. Tank is filled with clean fresh water. B. Bypass valve on operators control arm is in the Recirculation Mode. C. Tank shutoff valve is open. 17. With the parking brake engaged and the transmission in neutral, start the auxiliary engine and let engine idle for approximately 3 5 minutes. The pump is engaged when the engine is started and the water is circulated through the system and out of the nozzles. This warm up period extends engine life and purges air out of the system. Air in the system creates turbulence that can damage the pump and the accumulator bladder. After engine has been allowed to run for 3 5 minutes, bring engine to full throttle. 18. Rotate the bypass valve clockwise to the Injection Mode position to check the operational set up. The Envirojet Injection System should be emitting steady jet streams from the manifold that should be inspected from a safe distance.! DANGER When inspecting the jet blast, particles from the ground surface may become airborne. To prevent severe eye damage, ALWAYS wear eye protection. 19. Inspect the jet blast from the manifold at a safe distance. If any jet is not functioning or the jet stream is not straight shut unit off and make repairs as necessary. Remove and clean the backpressure valve and nozzle or replace as needed.! WARNING NEVER make any repairs to the jets, manifold or any component of the high pressure system while the unit is running. High pressure water or chemicals emitting from jets can and will cause very serious injuries. 20. Rotate the bypass valve counterclockwise to the Recirculation Mode position. Place the auxiliary engine speed control in low speed and shut engine off. 21. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to setup the pulse mode operation. Initially set the hex adjustment screw by tightening finger tight and then tighten an additional 2/3 revolution. 22. Start the auxiliary engine and bring to full throttle. Rotate the bypass valve clockwise to the Injection Mode position to check the operational set up. The Envirojet Injection System should begin pulsing and jet blasts from the manifold may be inspected from a safe distance. 10

NOTICE Rotate the valve quickly to initiate pulsing. If pulsing does not occur at once, the bypass valve should be cycled open closed until pulsing is detected. This will remove air from the system Check the operating pulse pressure and tighten as required (approximately 1/6 revolution) to obtain the correct operating pressure (3500 PSI maximum at gauge). When operating correctly the sequencer emits a sharp rapping sound. Tighten the lock nut. DO NOT operate the unit in the red range of the gauge, doing so can and will damage the pump. The gauge needle will oscillate significantly due to the pulsations of the unit. The system operating pressure is the maximum pressure reached during oscillation. It may be helpful to cover the low range of the needle oscillation with your hand to focus on the peak reading. 24. Rotate the bypass valve counterclockwise to the Recirculation Mode position. Place the auxiliary engine speed control in low speed and shut engine off. 25. With the park brake engaged and the transmission in neutral, start the Turf Truckster. 26. The product you intend to inject into the turf should be added to the tank at this time while the strainer basket is in place. LOADING CHEMICALS 1. Open the top cover and BE SURE the tank is clean and the strainer basket is in place. If the tank is not clean it MUST be flushed out and the drain valve closed before attempting to fill the tank. 2. Fill the tank at least 1/2 full, making sure the water passes through a well maintained water filter to insure that the water will be clean and fresh. NEVER fill the tank through the top cover. 1. Anti Siphon Accessory 3. Start the Turf Truckster engine and set the governor to approximately 2000 RPM. 4. Engage the PTO to activate the mechanical chemical agitation system in the tank. NOTICE NEVER load any type of chemicals without the strainer in place. NEVER load chemicals unless the agitation system is operating. 5. Calculate the amount of chemical required for the coverage desired. 6. Carefully add chemicals into the strainer basket. 7. Finish filling the tank. BE SURE that you do not overfill the tank after chemicals have been added.! WARNING Many chemicals are harmful if they come in contact with the skin or are ingested. ALWAYS wear protective clothing including gloves and a mask capable of filtering airborne particles when loading chemicals. 8. Close and latch the lid on the water tank. 9. Continue running the agitation system while servicing to prevent product separation. NOTICE! CAUTION Regulations in your area may require the use of the anti siphon fill accessory (Part No ) available for the Envirojet. The anti siphon accessory allows the tank to be filled through the top cover after the water has passed through the filter housing. Before proceeding to the next step, be sure the bypass valve is rotated to the Recirculation Mode position and all persons are clear of the injection manifold and drive systems. 10. The Envirojet Injection System is now ready to begin product application. 11

GROUND SPEED FOR ENVIROJET APPLICATIONS Normal pulse rate and injection depths require that the Turf Truckster speed be set at its lowest possible range setting. To reduce the injection depth for certain product applications, the pulse rate will need to be increased and the speed of the Turf Truckster may be adjusted (faster) to accommodate the faster pulse rate. Proper speed adjustment will allow for correct application rate and/or an ideal injection pattern of 3 to 4 inches (7.6 cm to 10 cm). If the proper ground speed has been adjusted, a small slit and hole will be visible on the surface of the turf. If the ground speed is too fast, an elongated slit will appear and the hole depth will be less than normal. Adjusting the height position of the injection manifold (normally.37, 10mm) will effect the depth of penetration. Always test the system on a small area before proceeding to the major area that will be serviced. STARTING CHEMICAL APPLICATION NOTICE If product is being injected, the mechanical agitation system should be on continuously. 1. Release the deck safety lock located on the left side of the engine frame. 2. Lower the injection deck assembly and place the hydraulic control into the neutral/float position. 3. Check to make sure the bypass valve is in the Recirculation Mode position. 4. Start the auxiliary engine and run in the recirculation mode for three (3) minutes if tank had been emptied previously. Bring engine to full throttle. 5. To start injecting, rotate the bypass valve clockwise to the Injection Mode position. 6. To stop injecting (pulsing), rotate the bypass valve to the Recirculation Mode position. Reduce the auxiliary engine RPM or turn engine off if traveling from one service point to another. 7. If your unit is equipped with a power brush, turn it on (using the live hydraulics valve) after the deck is lowered and shut it off before the deck is raised. 8. If the pulsing should stop during injection, open and close the bypass valve several times to reactivate the pulse. There may be some type of debris lodged in the sequencer seating area. If pulsing will not resume after operating bypass valve (several times), the sequencer adjustment bolt must be turned fully to the counterclockwise position and allow the system to operate briefly to expel any particles. Return the adjustment to the original preset position. RE LOADING CHEMICALS 1. If you are planning to apply another tank with the same chemical, it is preferable to leave approximately 1 2 gallons in the tank to prevent air from entering the system. 2. To re load the chemical tank, follow the preceding procedure. 3. Make sure the chemical mix in the tank is exactly the same as the previous mix. 4. When returning to applying chemicals, BE SURE the ground speed and spraying pressure are exactly the same as the preceding application. SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE NOTICE When the tank is empty the pulsing will stop. Shut the auxiliary engine off IMMEDIATELY to prevent damage to the high pressure pump. 1. If shutting the system down with a partially full tank, rotate bypass valve to the Recirculation mode position. 2. Reduce auxiliary engine RPM, run for a short period of time to cool down and then shut auxiliary engine off. NOTICE NEVER shutdown the auxiliary engine with the bypass valve in the Injection Mode position. 3. Fully raise the injection deck. 4. Shut off the Turf Truckster engine and engage the parking brake. 5. Engage deck safety lock on the left side of the auxiliary engine frame. SYSTEM FLUSH PROCEDURE NOTICE After each use where products/chemicals have been injected, the entire system must be thoroughly flushed with clean pure water. Thoroughly rinsing after using wettable powders is especially important since powders will dry and cake in valves and hoses. 1. BE SURE the drain valve is closed. 2. Fill the tank with clean pure water through the fill port. 3. Start the Turf Truckster engine and engage the PTO. 4. With the mechanical agitation system now functioning, open the drain valve to empty the tank. NOTICE DO NOT drain tank into storm sewer, waterway or other area that could cause damage to the environment. 12

5. After draining has been completed, disengage the PTO, close the water drain valve and refill the tank. BE SURE the fill water filter element is clean. If the filter is not clean it should be replaced immediately. 6. Make sure the area is clear and start the auxiliary engine. Open the drain cock at the relief valve for a few seconds to flush the over pressure return line. Bring the engine to full throttle. Lower the deck onto a metal plate or an area that will not be damaged by repeated high pressure water blasts. Rotate the bypass valve to the Injection Mode position. The system will begin to pulse. Run the fresh water through the system for a minimum of 5 minutes. NEVER RUN THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP DRY. Bring auxiliary engine to idle speed and shut auxiliary engine off. Drain the remainder of the water from the tank. (If your unit is equipped with the wand accessory, flush the wand also). 7. Disengage the PTO and raise the manifold brush assembly. Turn off the Turf Truckster engine and inspect the jets and brushes. Clean and wash down the manifold, roller and brushes. Spray a good quality silicone spray into each of the nozzles to prevent rust build up. 8. Inspect all hoses and drive belts. Replace any hoses or belts as needed. WATER FILTER CARTRIDGE REPLACEMENT 1. Turn off water supply to filter. 2. Depress red pressure relief button (if so equipped) to relieve pressure in filter housing. Remove fill hose 3. Using the filter wrench, unscrew bottom of housing. Locate and remove large O ring or gasket, wipe clean of lubricant and set aside. 4. Discard used cartridge. Rinse out bottom of housing and fill about 1/3 full with water. Add about two (2) tablespoons of bleach and scrub cap and bottom of housing with nonabrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly to remove bleach and residue from filter housing. 5. Lubricate O ring or gasket with clean petroleum jelly (Vaseline). Position O ring into groove and smooth into place with finger (or place gasket on rim of bottom of housing). 6. Insert new cartridge over standpipe in bottom of housing. Cartridges with TAPERED ENDS need to be specifically installed with the TAPERED END TOWARD THE THREADS OF THE HOUSING. 7. Screw bottom of housing onto cap and hand tighten. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. Make sure cap standpipe slips into cartridge. 8. Turn on water supply slowly to allow system to fill with water. 9. Depress pressure relief button to release trapped air. 10. Check for leaks in system and repair as needed. WAND ACCESSORY If your unit is equipped with the optional wand accessory (Part No ) it can be used to apply chemicals or pressure wash equipment. The wand accessory includes a stainless steel ball valve, 3200 psi brass regulator/unloader, brass soap injector, wand/gun with a safety trigger lock and an adjustable nozzle valve. Prior to using the wand accessory, fill the tank and adjust the injection pressure to psi then return the bypass valve to the recirculation mode. If you want to operate the wand accessory above 1700 psi, shut the auxiliary engine off, remove the accumulator and plug that port with the plug provided. This will assure that the unloader valve operates properly when the trigger is released. To activate the wand accessory, turn the ball valve counter clockwise to open.! WARNING BE SURE the trigger lock is activated to prevent fluid from accidentally discharging from the nozzle and severely injuring you or bystanders. High pressure fluid can penetrate skin. NEVER spray people or animals. NEVER use your hand to check for leaks. High pressure spray can propel objects. ALWAYS wear protective clothing including safety glasses and gloves. Atomized spray can create a hazardous environment. NEVER spray toxic substances, avoid asphyxiation and use a respirator. Flammable chemicals can ignite. NEVER spray flammable liquids. Some chemicals can harm people or the environment. ALWAYS read and understand all label directions on any chemicals being used. Spraying liquids around electrical sources can be hazardous. NEVER spray electrical equipment or wires. Spray gun can propel itself into operators or others. ALWAYS hold spray gun securely with both hands. Spraying liquid can cause slippery conditions. NEVER stand on slippery and/or sloping surfaces. Bring the auxiliary engine to full throttle, then turn the bypass valve clockwise to injection mode the unit will not pulse or emit liquid from the injection manifold if the injection pressure has been set to psi. The regulator/unloader will be allowing the liquid being pumped to return to tank at a moderate pressure. The regulator/unloader has a knob to adjust the wand discharge pressure. 13

! WARNING The rear cover must be removed to access the regulator/unloader knob which is located below the left rear corner of the tank. BE SURE to keep hair, hands or loose clothing away from any moving parts while making this adjustment. Replace the cover before operating the wand accessory or the Envirojet. Releasing the trigger lock and squeezing the trigger fully on the gun will start the flow through the nozzle and bring the system pressure (read on the control panel gauge) up to that set by the regulator/unloader. While continuing to squeeze the trigger, the regulator/unloader knob can be rotated counterclockwise to decrease pressure or clockwise to increase pressure. DO NOT attempt to exceed 3200 psi you could damage the valve or get pressure dumping from the injection manifold. If operating at a low pressure, the auxiliary engine can be throttled down to the desired RPM. When the trigger is released the system pressure will drop to a moderate pressure and the auxiliary engine can be shut off.! WARNING Activate the trigger lock before setting down or storing the wand to prevent fluid from accidentally discharging from the nozzle and severely injuring you or bystanders. To resume injection, make sure the bypass valve on the control panel is rotated counterclockwise to the recirculation mode and the wand valve is rotated clockwise to close. The soap injector allows liquid to be siphoned from the container stored in the soap carrier (other chemicals can be siphoned through the system, however, it is not practical to set the dilution rate to a known value easily). Set the container to be injected in the soap carrier, punch out or drill a hole in the cap and insert the clear plastic hose through the cap to the bottom of the container. It may be necessary to pierce a vent hole if the hose fits the cap too snugly. To switch to the soap injection mode, activate the trigger lock and turn the adjustable nozzle valve at the end of the wand counterclockwise. This will change the spray mode from high pressure spray to moderate pressure shower.! WARNING NEVER adjust the nozzle valve unless the trigger lock is activated to prevent fluid from accidentally discharging from the nozzle and severely injuring you or bystanders. When the trigger is squeezed in the shower mode, soap will be siphoned from the container. To stop siphoning soap, activate the trigger lock and turn the adjustable nozzle valve clockwise to close the shower head. The soap injector has a knurled knob that can be adjusted to control or prevent the flow of soap (clockwise to reduce flow or close). ACCESSORIES Several accessories are available to enhance the utility of the Envirojet 160 including: High pressure wand (Part No ) Lift/storage rack (Part No ) Storage jack set (Part No ) Anti siphon tank filler (Part No ) 20 cu. in. accumulator (Part No ) 1 quart accumulator (Part No ) Fuel Tank (Part No ) Heavy Duty Leaf Spring Accessory (Part No ) or dealer installed Modification for the Cushman Turf Truckster STORAGE When storing unit in areas subject to freezing temperatures, you MUST complete the following procedure: BE SURE all water is removed from the system. Drain tank, close drain valve and run the pump for no more than fifteen (15) seconds to purge the trapped water from the head. Place a 50% 50% environmentally safe (i.e. Sierra) antifreeze to distilled water mixture in the system to prevent any possibility of freezing. Run in recirculation mode for 30 seconds, open drain cock at relief valve until anti freeze is present and pulse system until anti freeze is present. If your unit is equipped with a wand accessory, circulate anti freeze through that part of the system also. NOTICE DO NOT allow the deck brushes to set on or against any object in such a manner that the brush bristles are bent under the weight of the deck. This will lead to permanent deformation of the bristles and inferior brush performance. Lock the deck in the raised position or lower the rollers onto 2 x 4 or similar sized boards to support the weight of the deck. To remove the unit from the Turf Truckster, reverse the procedure used in the set up instructions included with the unit. The deck can be left attached to the tank/engine frame but the hydraulic cylinder MUST be completely lowered to avoid a weight shift that could tip the unit. 14
