EU:n nuorten mestaruuskisa pidetään jälleen tänä vuonna Itävallassa. Maakunta on sama kuin viime vuonna, mutta pelipaikka on 50 km Grazista. Viime vuonnahan siellä olivat 12- ja 14-vuotiaiden sarjoissa Jenna Raki, Laura Savola, Mikko Kurkijärvi ja Teemu Pudas. Tänä vuonna sarjoja on lisätty 16 vuoteen, mutta toisaalta tyttöjen erillinen sarja poistettu. Osallistujia voi jäsenmaa ilmoittaa 10, 12 ja 14 ja 16 sarjaan yhden kuhunkin. Viime vuonna keskusteltiin siitä, mikä olisi oikea valintaperuste näihin kisoihin. Nyt kun on tiedossa sekä nuorten MM, EM ja EU-kisa, lienee kohtuullista että vastaavien ikäryhmien paras kesäkuun nuorten SMkisassa saa valita näiden kolmen turnauksen välillä, ja vastaavasti muut mitalistit jäljelläolevista paikoista. 3. Koulushakin tukemisesta keskusteltiin Vantaalla Sotungin koululla viikko sitten. Perästä kuulunee. Muun muassa 3-9-luokkalaisten iltapäivätoiminta tulee ministeriön tuen piiriin, ja tällöin kerho voi toimia koulun ulkopuolellakin esimerkiksi usean koulun yhteisenä. Ohjaajakoulutusta ja materiaalia tullaan kartoittamaan. Koulushakkiliitostakin keskusteltiin, mutta ainakin koulushakin tiedotusverkosto tullaan perustamaan. The purpose of the tournament is to attract for participation school champions of all European countries, of all Balkan and Black-sea countries and the sister cities of Varna. CONDITIONS TO PARTICIPATE 1.1. Right to participate in the Tournament of the Champions (2 nd -9 th July) have all school champions: one boy and one girl in the different age groups (to 10, 12, 14 and 16 years of age), born after 1 January 1994, 1992, 1990 and 1988. 1.2. Right to participate in the Chess at School Tournament (10 th -16 th July) have: School teams to 12 years of age (participants born after 1 January 1992), and School teams to 16 years of age ( participants born after 1 January 1988) 1.3. The participants must have attended their school for at least one school term (the second school term). Places of less than 50 000 inhabitants may participate with a collective team. 1.4. The teams have three members (two boys and one girl plus one leader). The girl plays on a third board. 1.5. Each team has the right of two reserves (one boy and one girl). The international participants have to present their international passports. DOCUMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION How to apply 2.1. The champions' request to participate in both tournaments has to contain: candidate's name, surname and date of birth, address and contact telephones of the school principal and the leader of the group. The request has to be on letterhead, signed by the school principal and sealed with the school seal. The international participants have to present their international passports.
