CLEANING AGENTS - all purpose cleaner - detergent for sanitary facilities - disinfecting cleaning agent ph number is important: a) Neutral cleaning agent (ph 6-8) - you don`t usually have to rinse b) Acid cleaning agent (ph 0-5,9) - you can remove deposits like limestone (for example around taps) - you always have to rinse - use protective gloves c) Slightly alcalic cleaning agent (ph 8,1-10) - common in everyday use - you don`t have to rinse d) Alcalic cleaning agent (ph 10,1-11) e) Highly alcalic cleaning agent (ph 11,1-14) - you always have to rinse - use protective gloves - thorough cleaning and places that are difficult to clean
REGULAR MAINTENANCE CLEANING - you clean regularly (for example every day or once a week) - you usually use neutral or slightly alcalic agents THOROUGH CLEANING - you clean rarely and thoroughly - you usually use alcalic or highly alcalic agents CLEANING METHODS Wiping a) damp wiping - mop - cleaning cloth You dampen the cloth or the mop only a little. You can use water or cleaning solution. Damp wiping removes rubbish and dry loose dirt and it binds up dust. The surface that you clean dries instantly. b) moist wiping You moisten the cloth or the mop more than in damp wiping. You can use water or cleaning solution. The surface is moist but dries fast. c) wet wiping - scrubbing pads (edging tools) The surface is wet and you have to dry it.
d) dry wiping - no water - works of art, electrical appliances - you can use a microfiber cloth for example CLEANING DIFFERENT TYPES OF AREAS 1. Cleaning sanitary facilities - Empty the dustbin. - Add toilet paper and hand towels. - Wipe mirrors, door handles and light switches. - Wipe around the sink. - Wash the sink and the tap with a dish brush. - Wipe the toilet seat handle and the tank. - Wipe the lid and the inside lid. - Wash the toilet seat. - Wipe the floor with a mop. - Clean the cleaning equipment. - Put the cleaning equipment in their places. - Wash the mop and the cleaning cloth.
2. Cleaning a floor drain - Remove all the hair and the dry loose dirt that there is on top of the drain. - Open the strainer (lid) of the drain with a special hook (don`t use keys). - Remove the dirt from the inside of the drain. - Brush the strainer and the drain with a dish brush. - Rinse with a shower head. 3. Cleaning stairs - Walk face forward. - Wipe the stairs with a dry floor mop from top to bottom. - Collect the dry loose dirt with dust pan. - Wet the floor mop with cleaner solution. - Wash the floors with the floor mop. 4. Office cleaning - Empty the dust bin. - Wipe the tables. - Clean the floors.
SAFETY AT WORK 1. Protective gloves - when you clean sanitary facilities (toilets) - use microfiber cloths - clean very dirty objects - use acid and alcalic cleaning agents 2. Working footwear (working shoes) - safe, non-slippery - low heels 3. Protective equipment - respiratory protection (lot of dust or strong cleaning agent) - hearing protection (noise) - protective glasses (splashing, sprinkling)
4. Electrical appliances - Remove all the electrical appliances from the socket when you clean. - Make sure that the cable of the machine isn`t damaged. - Don`t use the machine if it is broken or malfunctioning. 5. Disinfect or wash your hands - when you come to work - you change from one task to another - you blow your nose - your hands are dirty. 6. Ergonomics (equipment, machines and tasks are suitable) - adjust the handle (pole) of the mop - use cleaning machines - have a proper lifting technique - don`t use too much water - use both hands - don`t repeat the same movement too often - beware of slippery surfaces 7. SCRUBBER DRIER - washes, rinses, hoovers, maintains and polishes - usually needs a battery - cleaning or protective agent into the clean water tank - sucks the dirty water into the recovery tank (dirty water tank) - choose cleaning agent according to material and dirt After using the scrubber drier - Wash the drive disc and the pads or brushes. - Clean the squegee. - Empty the recovery tank, wash and rinse the hose. - Dry the inside of the container (tank). - Wipe the machine with a damp or moist cloth.
BATTERIES Open battery - check the amount of battery liquid (water) once a week - the plates inside the battery should be covered by liquid - always recharge the battery after use
