Transtech Artic Helsinkis s new tram
Made for challenging conditions Pre-series trams passed the trouble free run tests in record time. The test was splitted to 6000 km winter test and to and to 4000 km summer test.
Availability & Reliability Transtech Artic has the best availability and reliability of all trams in Helsinki
Maintainability The component exchange times for Artic tram have been verified. Times have been according to the contract or shorter. Exterior panel or window exchange is 20 mins, interior panel exchange is 14 mins, ceiling panel exchange is 7 mins. Wheel-set exchange is 45 mins.
Energy consumption According to the measurements the energy consumption is 5 % lower than high-floor articulated trams of HKL. Compared to earlier generation HKL low-floor trams the energy consumption of Artic is about 30 % lower. The difference is even higher in winter conditions when energy recovery system is in function.
Comfort Artic tram is equipped with traditional pivoting bogie with rigid axels. This construction leads to minimal wear and tear of wheels and tracks. The bogie construction ensures lower noise level and better ride comfort than other constructions. The ride comfort has been verified by measurements, analyzes and by excellent feedback of passengers.
