With some 260,000 registered hotel nights at Saariselkä in 2011, the centre is poised to enter a new phase of strong development. The new development area in Saariselkä is situated on the slopes between Kaunispää and Iisakkipää fells. The total construction potential of the 160-hectare area currently being zoned may reach 160,000 square metres of floor space. The planned developments in the area include hotels, restaurants, holiday homes, chalets and facilities for business services. Set in a beautiful landscape surrounded by majestic fells, the properties will feature direct ski-in/ ski-out, access to cross-country ski tracks, ski slopes and other recreational services.
